I would think in heaven our spirits leave our earthly bodies, and we become one with God, meaning we will become perfect or purified. By your logic, a blind person won't be able to see in heaven because their earthly body had that problem.

I'd also heard that the original aversion to cremation was its relation to pagan religions that still existed. People getting incinerated today aren't doing it for Wotan, so the restrictions have lessened.
