Honest question here, how much did Family Guy bash Trump and his supporters? From what I can look up, it was one episode where they made fun of him. Meanwhile, South Park is dedicating this entire season to nonstop Trump 24/7 like he fucked their wives. Its one thing to hate Trump and want to do one episode criticizing or making fun of him, but jesus I've never seen so much hatred for a guy that really doesn't effect your lives. Why would they care this much?

If you believe the internet, the South Park guys have the same lawyer as Hunter Biden and the lawyer has a financial stake in South Park.
I've thought about it and the best and perhaps boldest thing they could do is do a parable that not only condemns political violence and assassinations, but also condemns the shitty people rejoicing over the killings and that they deserve to get fired.
Yes, that would piss off their awful Reddit fans and that's why I said it would be bold.

Another reason Family Guy is so good is that its not just being led by one dictator like South Park or a cabal of writers who've been there since the 90s like the simpsons. Seth is pretty good about giving people shots and all of his tv shows allow for endless experimentation.
Because the shows aren't tied down, it doesn't matter how long ago the show came out someone will find the jokes funny. Meanwhile a majority of south park episodes become stale within the month, the silly kid adventures of the 90s and 2000s replaced by shitty "reference humor" on par with the worst of the Epic Movie/Disaster movie era.
its crazy seeing a family guy clip online and finding out its 20+ years old but gets millions of views and likes.

Should also note that the episode also has Trump sexually assault Meg and when confronted by Peter, Trump admits to preferring Bob's Burgers to Family Guy (which is what triggers the fight kicks off the fight) and had the fight ended by Justin Trudeau (kicking off a series of episodes where Peter sucks Trudeau off to completion saying "I wish he was our President!").
Then there was the episode with the B-plot of Briand and Stewie spending all their money on salt water Taffy to sell and only make their money back selling it to "mentally retarded MAGAts" as a Covid cure and making their extra money they originally wanted to try and earn tricking Joe Rogan into shilling it as a cure.. not to mention the episode where they had the Griffins on a road trip and stopped a diner, only to find themselves triggering a bit from the Birds where the people in the diner reveal that everyone there are Trump supporters, leading to the Griffins fleeing the diner only to find a mob of MAGA hat wearing locals standing around like the Birds at the end of the Birds just watching the family as they leave and ready to strike the second they linger too long.

Actually it's a pretty funny episode, but it was done as a joke on 80's movies.

I have come to fucking hate reference humour over the years, it is the biggest defining way to tell who is a hack because instead of actually making a joke just reference popular culture endlessly and even if the reference wasn't a well known example of media it either dates the joke heavily or the reference is so niche that I have never heard of it before but even if I know the reference that doesn't automatically make it funny "wow this is just like star wars or Spider-Man!!!"
