Eh, they went after Barbra Streisand first and they weren't wrong to.family guy had a randy newman bit before south park
Trey and Matt have Howard Stern syndrome where they DESPISE celebrities yet will eat shit out of their asses if it advances their careers and give them clout. Remember, these fucks had George Clooney's address and knew him well enough to get him to accept their mail and not throw it away.It was either in one of the commentaries or an interview early on where matt and trey said south park and team america was an outlet for their deep seeded hatred of celebrities.
I always found it strange though that they hate them so much but they are completely preoccupied with them. Almost every celebrity that they have mocked i never heard of until seeing south park mock them. Its like they spend all day reading celebrity gossip magazines and yelling at the magazine.
Normally I'd say shitting directly on Sean Penns face is a noble effort, but at a certain point it just feels hollow when they're also butt buddies with fuckin George Clooney.Trey and Matt have Howard Stern syndrome where they DESPISE celebrities yet will eat shit out of their asses if it advances their careers and give them clout. They have their unfavorites yes, but Trey and Matt clearly want to hobnob with the rich and famous
and yet here we are...You're Getting Old really should have been the series finale.
Wait, I'm out of touch. What did the Spicoli guy do?Normally I'd say shitting directly on Sean Penns face is a noble effort, but at a certain point it just feels hollow when they're also butt buddies with fuckin George Clooney.
Are you thumbing your nose at the dogshit industry or not, guys?
>FateI really hope SP doesn't have the same fate as Simpsons or Family Guy, man
Someone can go into greater detail but Penn has a LONG LONG LONG history of being a piece of shit among which, was the fact that he was physically abusive towards Madonna and randomly beating up photographers taking his picture. He's also a huge fucking liberal and some have long joked that his outspoken liberal beliefs are cover/smokescreen to avoid being cancelledWait, I'm out of touch. What did the Spicoli guy do?
>Fate
I've got bad news man.
To be honest ever since I've heard someone pitch this idea a while back, it's been my own personal canon that it really is the last episode. You can just stop watching SP right then and there and miss NOTHING. Recently I've been introducing South Park to my younger sibling who knows nothing about it and it's so tempting to just re-edit the ending by the time we get to that episode and make them believe that really is how it ended lol. They won't have to live with the pain we do.You're Getting Old really should have been the series finale.
There was that Mad TV skit where he did the soundtrack for the Star Wars prequelsWith zero irony no one hated Randy Newman before South Park.
I posted that scene on here earlier.family guy had a randy newman bit before south park

They were mad about not winning little tin trophies? To this extent? ‘Hollywood, we hate you, we’re above you. Reward us!’I posted that scene on here earlier.

Parodying Randy Newman not the same as South Park bitching and moaning over him winning more musical award than Matt and Trey did. Hell South Park just as salty over Phill Collin winning song awards over Matt and Trey.
They lie to the pubic because they don't want their image to be hollywood insiders. They want everyone to think that they are trailblazers and rogues. And that they have to struggle every day against the evil corporations. Those evil corporations that give them billion dollar contracts. And carte blanche to seemingly do everything that they want and even take the hit for them publicly when the fans get angry. They want the fans to connect with them even if it's on some superficial level or completely through lies.Trey and Matt have Howard Stern syndrome where they DESPISE celebrities yet will eat shit out of their asses if it advances their careers and give them clout. Remember, these fucks had George Clooney's address and knew him well enough to get him to accept their mail and not throw it away.
They always hated anyone who questioned the government on certain issues. Mystery of the Urinal Deuce is them crying over people accusing the mossad of the 9/11 attacks and jews being complicit in attacks against Americans or Europeans to start wars (USS Liberty, Lavon Affair, King David Hotel Bombing). "Kyle had nothing to do with 9/11".Something didn't sit right to me painting WikiLeaks as just a gossip site and Julian as nothing more than a tabloid writer.
Tarzan is better in every conceivable way compared to the South Park movie. Even better is that it's a rights nightmare at the moment for Disney which is why they do so little with it.I posted that scene on here earlier.

Best song is the easiest fucking Oscar one can win, especially since competition tends to be super weak. And 2000 Oscars had a pretty weak field, to the point that a lot of people thought South Park had a good chance to win it purely because Trey and Matt were the new hot talent. Hell, they even got Robin Williams to sing the song at the Oscar, everyone thought it was going to win. They were mad about not winning little tin trophies? That makes me think back to the episode where the famous musical producers were actually hardcore bros, and had to come around and accept Randy, the outsider producer. I thought the joke was the absurdity of the scenario (and the exaggeration of how far a musical can go to get you laid), but since we know Randy is a Trey stand in now, I wonder if it was just covert bitching about not being in the in-crowd on Broadway.
At least that episode is genuinely hilarious.
yeah the ending always bothered meBest song is the easiest fucking Oscar one can win, especially since competition tends to be super weak. As for the Broadway Brodown, it was pretty clear and explicit with how Trey even breaks the fourth wall via Randy in the episode, explicitly stating that the main plot was him raging against not being immediately brought into the top tier broadway producer circle off the back of the success of Book of Mormon. And the ending IMHO ruins the episode as Randy pretty much kills Shelly's boyfriend in cold blood then justifies it in mocking fashion.
