South Park + Its Political Sperging (?) Thread - Season 26 ongoing!

I love how Trump is too busy, you know, running a country, directing international politics, dealing with literal wars, and managing international trade to care about a has-been 90s cartoon made by almost-boomers.

I know some Trump administration members humored them, but they’ve moved on by now.

I bet they expected a super epic meltdown, like how George Bush Sr. complained about The Simpsons. As usual, the best way to one-up them is by reminding them they’re just making a cartoon—that they aren't the cool rebels they think they are—by simply ignoring them or embracing it for gain, like Hilton and Jake Paul did.

They just don't know what to do when their target they try to bully doesn't seethe to give them the publicity and dopamine boost they want.

I've seen some people actually say that if South Park bashed Trump before the 2024 election that Harris would have won. First off, if the majority of Americans didn't know who to vote for until they saw a comedy show make fun of only Trump then that says a lot about our country and how they need someone famous or in media to tell them who to vote for. Secondly, didn't they do exactly that in 2016 and still lost? I know they made fun of Hillary some what in 2016, but they literally said through Garrison that Hillary should win because she would have been the better choice. Matt and Trey don't have the kind of power these people think they do.
I honestly did like the labubu parts of the episode and the wordplay of "Wok is dead". But the "Trump is fucking Satan" thing was unfunny. I feel like they drag and repeat jokes too much now, like Randy's weed farm went on far too long, and now the "haha Trump small penis" is going to go on the entire season.
Honestly, I thought the labubu part was fun. Too bad that got ruined by South Park Twitter creating stupid theories about Red being a secret lesbian because someone put Wicked and Chappell posters in her bedroom. The whole Trump and Satan plot was just getting repetitive and boring.

Last month, Matt and Trey confirmed that all footage in the trailer was made just for the trailer and the new season won't contain any of it.

sp.mp4
To be fair that can't believed given that they also said no Trump this season. And given the rumors circulating that the season was finished around April and that they went crying to CC when the premiere got delayed to have them take their side when Skydance got word about how the season was anti-Trump to the extreme and demanded they junk the episodes, combined with the whole "the show is now every two weeks", the trailer probably is accurate and we'll get to the footage by the end of the season when they do their "the world invades to kill Trump and liberates America from his rule" finale along with Kyle becomes a chicken episode and only lose the P Diddy/Starving Marvin material.

If they really nostalgia baited for the trailer, they are straight up just assholes. That was the first time since all the tegridy farms bullshit that I was slightly interested in South Park, seeing what they'd do with characters like Starvin Marvin and Moses in the modern day peaked my interest. This shows that they know people love the old South Park, but they'd rather tard rage about their political flavor of the month than deliver something that actually interests long time fans.

Did trey and matt also get mad when jake paul liked the show mocking?

Has anybody made an edit yet of that macro where Steve Spielberg and George Lucas are raping a stormtroope
It will never not be funny to me that they do that with kingdom of the crystal skulls, but treat Kennedy with kids gloves. Was anyone else pissed by the talk between her and Cartman? You want proof they were hacks, just look at that.

I think some overestimate just how popular South Park is. It was never a niche, but in terms of even traditional ratings, it was never up there with Family Guy or The Simpsons either. The only reason this season got attention causing people to tune in is because the media is still massively butthurt over Colbert getting canned.
And are these people just completely oblivious to the fact that South Park bashed Trump relentlessly just prior to the 2016 election?
0:27 "There's a lot to unpack here"
This is all you need to unpack with a summary of the episode of M&T's mindset regarding "Drumpf is heckin Satan!!!" in typical "I'm Athiest... but if I was Christian I'd think..."

I despise "informative" Youtubers, these faggots do nothing but rephrase stuff that they have seen, read or listened to; monkey see, monkey do. The worst part is that all of them are shallow and superficial. If you were truly interested in the topic you would read about it and not try to spend time watching vids made by subhumans. All the video's are at best 80% filler anyways.
But to answer your question. It's slop, you know it's slop, we know it's slop, it doesn't matter.

I wasn't aware they were THAT petty about paris. Why do they make their hatred for her and seth so personal like they pissed in their cereal?
It was either in one of the commentaries or an interview early on where matt and trey said south park and team america was an outlet for their deep seeded hatred of celebrities.

I always found it strange though that they hate them so much but they are completely preoccupied with them. Almost every celebrity that they have mocked i never heard of until seeing south park mock them. Its like they spend all day reading celebrity gossip magazines and yelling at the magazine.
