I think this probably my biggest issue with the remake. I already live in 2025, I know how clownpilled it is, I can hear the fucking honking from my apartment.

Koth worked best as a 2000s period piece.

My issue with Bobby being such a good character is that, in future seasons, he's gonna take prominence over Hank because writers are unable to relate to someone who's not their own demographic. In general, modern writers suck at balancing characters once they chose a favorite, but not necessarily because they're favorites, rather to push their own ideas.

Bobby is hardly what I'd call a cosmopolitan left-winger based on the cultural appropriation episode and his reaction to Connie's explanation of her "open relationship", although I agree that he and Hank should continue to get equal screentime rather than Bobby taking over and Hank ending up as a glorified cameo. At least the writers still have to identify with a Texan white male even if Bobby becomes the main character.

I think objectively it's mid, but in comparison to other current year disasters it's pretty good. Certainly it is not as horrible as I feared, a bit rough around the edges but I'd definitely watch a second season.

I'd say season 14 is better than Futurama's first season on Hulu, but that's not saying much. I think the problem is that this season felt more like trying to explain where everyone is at now instead of entertaining episodes. Some of the jokes are fine, others fall flat, Khan's new voice sucks. I can only cope and say maybe the next season will be better now that every character's status is accounted for.

This is why south park had its popularity wane a bit in recent years. The worlds absurdity surpassed the shows. How can you be entertaining when your caliber is lower than what you already see.

I tried watching one episode of this and had to tune out. It's very modern and had no respect for the dynamics or characters in the previous series. King of the hill was a specific time and place and it's gone now. Bringing it back and having them talk about hijabs and shit is just disgusting.

It's a little astounding. If it wasn't for the out-of-nowhere "FUCK WOMEN AMIRITE GUYS" bit, there'd have been nothing wrong with the seminar. It felt like someone else took the pen and wrote the rest of the episode the moment you see the fucking virgin vs chad meme come up

The first episode and the Andrew Tate episode definitely seemed like some heccin’ exec required it to greenlight the remake. It felt like some focus group bullshit. Mike Judge can misfire on occasion but they don’t feel like his type of misfires.

God, the people on /co/ and elsewhere losing their shit over Connie "being a whore" was intolerable. I was really nervous before the show aired on how they were going to handle the situation but they wrote it well. People act like the whole thing was out of character for Connie and it really wasn't. Unless I'm forgetting something I didn't get the impression that Connie was slutting it up either like people were saying. I think she slept around as much as Bobby was depicted of doing, more or less. Which if people genuinely thought she was going to stay a pure virgin waifu for Bobby... lol. That's more out of character than the ENM shit.

The entire point of that whole poly plotline with Connie is she WASN'T sluting around Chane was. She wasn't happy to be the poly relationship and it wasn't her idea to begin with it was Chane's. The people who were calling her a slut fundamentally did not understand the episode or didn't even bother watching it.

It was a 6 out of 10 for me. Not quite good but slightly above passable. People were comparing the quality to late season KOTH and I'd still argue that was just a little bit better writing and characterization wise. I don't know if I'd even rewatch it out of boredom years from now either.
