This was the first time he was doing "that" in front of the entire internet, and since everyone has seen it, I think it's also the first time he couldn't control the narrative about it. Obviously back then no one believed anything he said but his stories or criticisms about him (besides his shitty gameplay) had plausible deniability. He can't deny jerking off on camera like he can deny and sometimes convince people of other things. He went from a nobody that was bad at games but that worked to his favor despite his shitty behavior to becoming "He's the guy". Anytime people bring up DSP it's the fact he jerked off and people that don't know about him like "potential fans" that will be the first thing they see and won't stick around because of that.
Someone should go into his chat and say "There are only two genders". I'm curious if he'll just ban them, go on a long-winded rant, or ignore them.
I think it was moving to Washington in 2014. He still had friends until then, or at least acquaintances he could do things with and use. He had designs of doing things in Seattle and furthering his career.
Not only the Internet he had articles written about him. Even the Sun one of the biggest papers in the UK reported on it. And that's why he will only ever rememebred for him jerking of. Because it's his only real highlight. Nobody remmebers him as one of the early gaming Youtubers or his 4th place at Evo 2005.
Definitely the latter since I don't think he's mentally capable of working a job that doesn't involve him sitting on his ass lording over wheelchairs while he regales them with the tale of what he ate for breakfast that day.
I think the line is more like $40k where Phil has to address this. So, many years away still.
The algorithm boosts consistent daily uploads, but it also punishes channels for spamming uploads multiple times a day. Back during his "good years" the algorithm pushed channels that uploaded a lot regardless of how many videos were being uploaded which is why he lucked out back then but fell off as the algorithm got improved.
Phil will continue to stream as long as he can. He, along with anybody else, would be stupid to leave a job where you basically play video games making large amounts of money in favor of working a dead end job barely making enough to live off of. He won't be able to afford his back taxes, mortgage, DoorDash, and WWEC stocking shelves at a grocery store.
If things go seriously south DSP will first try to bite the bullet and go crawling back to Keem to try to get his original deal to be on LCP. This will fail. He will then try to contact detractors to go on their shows if he gets to share the revenue. Outside of this and other potential gimmicks like DSPolitics or something, I don’t know what other options he really has online.
DSP will die on camera is how I feel.
Imagine if he had a stroke on stream. I would bet the detractors would be quicker calling the ambulance then his actual fanbase
