fwiw all the crew quarters we see with replicators are officer’s quarters. Regular enlisted don’t even get private quarters afaik.

It depends heavily on the type of ship, crew size, mission(s) and which era on whether the lower ranks have their own private quarters. To sharing quarters or all of them sleeping in berths like on the USS Excelsior in STVI.
This wasn't true in TNG and the Enterprise had over 1000 people.

A lot of people would agree with you. Enterprise was very controversial when it came out and I also couldn't stand it when I first watched it. The great set design is what eventually won me over and I actually came to like most of the characters.
I don't know, between the writers' strike and Disney wanting to get more control over Hulu, it feels like everything is against The Orville.
When STD came out it was obviously not real Star Trek but the show didn't get that bad yet. As for The Orville, pretty much everyone wrote it off as Seth McFarlane's fanfiction and placed their bets on STD being good. Isn't it funny how everything works out?

I'll watch it eventually probably but honestly Orville filled my ST void when it was on that I just kinda have no interest atm. I remember reading Seth McFarlane was trying to take over star trek a few years ago and I wasn't aware at how much he loved it and thought that sounded like a disaster but I really wish he would have gotten it. Because it's kinda obvious the comedy in Orville is just there because its him and the way he conned the studio into making the show. he obviously just wants to make new TNG episodes lol
I feel like I would probably enjoy it if I were to give it a chance now. But on the other hand I still want to punch Scott Bakula right in his stupid smarmy fucking grin every time I see his face so I probably won't watch it.
