Not a lawfag, but jury instructions are about how they sound:
Instructions from the judge to the jury on what the goal of their deliberations is and how to get there. The attorneys argue their cases to the judge in regards to the specific wording beforehand, but it's up to the judge in the end.

I'm so fucking pissed right now. HOURS of fucking bickering about interpolation, and nobody for the last 24h told the defense team that it's a h.264 clip and they need to fucking press on compression artifacts. The first thing h.264 does is throw away color and luma information, compressing it jpeg style, and then PREDICT motion vectors based upon that. And this is on a heavily compressed block of mostly black shit, which is apparent by the shitload of macroblocking

"What's the difference between a photo and a frame of video?" "What's the difference between a photo and a video" "How are video frames stored" is what the defense should be ready to ask today from the fucking get go. This should have never been brought up, resized or fucking not

Worst part is, that video doctor from the defense side SHOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT IT. Compression is LITERALLY making pixels from nothing (in their lingo)

What the MI lawyer was saying on Rackets' stream, his testimony was important to form a personal connection.
That whole "looked into his eyes and saw a good and honest soul" horseshit, it does work if you're not starting from a position that's completely disgusted with Kyle.

Honestly we already have at least 3 different people in that courtroom attesting that the jury

A. Stopped takin notes when Binger was cross examining
and
B. Were watching Kyle's mother cry.


Frankly idk why people are so sure its a hung jury to begin with. Think about it for a second. The fact that the person who made the Jacob Blake joke even got on and would have STAYED on had he not been a dumb motherfucker tells you there was at least ONE person not tainted. It's at the very least reasonable to think there could be more. I've yet to see any evidence that this will play out like Chauvin at all and I wish people would stop making that comparison.

I think Kyle is fucked but I'm not dooming about it because it's a dead end. All dooming is a dead end and a waste of energy. Less dooming more hoping for the boy because he needs those prayers.

Plus it seems that many "progrsssives" seem to waken up what bullshit they were fed (yes call me :optimistic: I don't care. I am like Pandora's Box I still have a little hope in me). And I also read that both sides have getting threats. That isn't a good sign. I hope that the jury can make a neutral decision. At the very least they have seen what a slimebag Binger is and how most of his witnesses were nothing but examples that Kyle did indeed what he did namely clear self-defense.

By the way does the defense still have witnesses left? I believe they wanted to get the roommate of the one biceps bandit in the stand to confirm if he really heard one byceps man say what he allegedly said.. Or did they drop that?

Notable perhaps that this petition was made at least 9 months ago, long before the trial. I've edited the petition's text to remove the stuff that doesn't actually have anything to do with the judge. Essentially they are mad that Rittenhouse was granted bail. So I imagine the signees are that much more upset now that we know Judge Schroeder has the Nazi national anthem as his ring tone.

The judge in charge of this case, Judge Bruce Schroeder, upon hearing Rittenhouse's plea of 'not guilty,' gave him $2 million bail. This money was collected by the aforementioned right-wing groups and a murderer was allowed to walk free.

Judge Schroeder noted there is no evidence that Rittenhouse is a flight risk or has violated his bond conditions by committing a crime, which would be required for him to grant the prosecution's two motions.

"To issue a warrant now for a defendant who has appeared at every hearing, I'd be breaking the law, and I'm not going to do it," Schroeder stated.

Schroeder ordered Rittenhouse to provide his current physical address to the court and the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office and ruled that the information would be kept under seal, due to concerns for Rittenhouse's safety. Mark Richards, an attorney for Rittenhouse, said the suspect has received threats.

Richards told the judge he would provide the information to the court clerk by the end of the day on Thursday. The judge declined to order that the address be provided to the district attorney's office.

The prosecution said it is "highly irregular" for the address of a defendant, particularly one charged with multiple counts of murder, to be withheld. He unsuccessfully argued the information was necessary for his officer to ensure bail conditions are being met.

Judge Bruce Schroeder has demonstrated on multiple occasions that he is not fit to make fair judgements on this case. His continual insistence that Rittenhouse be allowed to walk free shows that he puts no value in the safety of the public. His decisions in this matter have unequivocally proven that he needs to be removed. If he cannot take something as severe as hate crimes resulting in murder seriously, how can we expect him to make fair judgments in any other trial?

This has probably been explained but this thread has become pretty much a live chat moving too fast to read everything. Can someone explain to me why a mistrial would be better for Kyle than a finding of Not Guilty? Unless it's a mistrial "with prejudice" then doesn't it just mean that the prosecution gets to have a whole other go at it, maybe more competently this time? And my understanding (possibly wrong) is that with prejudice is very unlikely.

I'm not seeing why they wouldn't just leave the jury to deliberate and come back with Not Guilty as unless the jury is very prejudiced against Kyle or feel threatened, it's hard to imagine this not passing reasonable doubt.

Short version: Why would they / have they moved for a mistrial? I'm not saying there's not grounds, I'm asking why they'd want that.
