It is not. The LotR set was a piece of the puzzle but not even the biggest problem the game faces. Quality of the card material suffers to the point of unplayability, constant printing errors, overprinting, abundant crossover sets that have cards that will not be legal or reprinted after 2 years ever again, the broken cards released into set rotation formats to satisfy Eternal format players and an overall distrust from the players after all these issues.

A cute gimmick like Over Frame is nothing. More harmless gimmicks are nothing. MtG is not suffering death by a thousand paper-cuts, it is suffering death by a thousand axe chops. Everyone of those issues I mentioned would have been the scandal of the year in the TCG community. The way things are, they have to share the podium of shame far beyond capacity.

I think the new Wingman is very neat.

Having another target for Super Polymerization is nice but I wish they let him keep the burn damage. I also want to know who was the wiseguy who thought the defense position special summon in the Battle Phase was ok. The fusion ability is solid though. A little situational depending what fusions you have to work with, but it can help push for lethal if you're a little short. Would be nice if we got another main deck hero though, the Extra deck is getting really tight for options and if something has to go, it will probably be this card

What they need to do is finish up with the Masked HEROs. We need a level 6 LIGHT and a level 6 EARTH to complete the set.

So, the Over-Frames are quite hype, and it'd be cool if they manage to manifest a larger cultural impact; especially in the hopes of pumping some interest / new blood into Yu-gi-oh!'s stagnating player-base. Unfortunately, any such "surge" would be predominantly through the "collector" side-of-things, and that alone puts a significant damper on producing more players / enthusiasts. Primarily due to the absence of a middle ground between Collector <-> Casual <-> Competitor. It is incredible to me how you autists honestly believe that anyone even the tiniest-bit interested in 'Yu-Gi-Oh!' M-U-S-T become a Competive player. No Genesys IS NOT casual; I mean, F-U-C-K, you retards can't even accept that Time Wizard (Goat, Edison, etc) IS NOT casual. Look, I'm not saying MTG's approach to things is flawless, but it at least understands that the path Yu-Gi-Oh! is on, is a dark one. I mean, faggots, you can't even lie to yourselves about being a "Big 3" anymore, you have to swallow your pride and say "Big 4" now, as if this is One Piece and we're a god damn Yonkō. The "Big 3" position-title shouldn't even be up for D-E-B-A-T-E, and yet here we are, and you sad little tards will still scream from the mountain-top: "EVERYTHING IS FINE! EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!"

I feel the yu gi oh is dying is a really shit psy op to generate clicks and views. The meta game is pretty good currently. Genesys does need some point adjustments to Artmage, Psychic pile, but it is overall fine.

The other games have much bigger issues. Pokémon has kneeled to social justice and is occupied by Reddit/Gays and Groomers. The game has resorted to being literal fucking gacha. The amount of political sperging in this community is wild. I know people personally who have left just because it is so toxic. Legit posts are mourning Iran's leader's death, and have trans flags in bio. Honestly, I would kill for a non-biased study on the Pokémon TCG community.

One Piece just reprints the same characters and art in different colours and is going to rotate and repeat the same shit.

If PePe and MR4 being back-to-back did not deal a lethal blow to the game, I do not know what will. Certainly not formats that are not as bad as those, that is for sure.

I would have been more forgiving if they did not spend their days shitting on YGO in the past and dismissing it outright without trying to actually learn about it. Now, I just sit back and laugh.
