Your Superstitions and Strange Beliefs - or how to ward off bad luck, wicked juju, and the evil eye

Saturn is the Roman the god of harvest and agriculture. In Latin the root word satus means 'sowing' and satur means 'full plate' or sated and full of food. He was celebrated during a festival called Saturnalia which ran December 17-23, followed by Sol Invictus (birthday of the Unconquerable Sun) on the 25th.

The issue with Saturn arose in mythology when it was foretold that he would one day be overthrown by one of his sons so, in order to prevent that from happening he ate 5 of his newborn children.

His wife Ops successfully hid one child, Jupiter (Zeus) who tricked his father into vomiting up his siblings, (Neptune, Pluto, Juno, Ceres, and Vesta) who joined forces and the prophecy was fulfilled.

My husband has a work friend that I'm convinced has been cursed.

I'm considering giving her a succulent that's been given some holy water.

Not to just blast her problems, but she's adopted, has had cancer, and just... A lot. She's a wonderful person, and she's not munching, or otherwise doing stuff for attention. She's just terribly unlucky. Like, "what did the deaf ind kid get for Christmas? Cancer!" kind of unlucky.

i never throw food waste in the garbage. i throw it in the yard, i want it to go back in the ecosystem and nourish other living things

I consider eating horses, cats, and dogs to be on par with cannibalism, since they're so important to how our society became what it is. Even in a video game I'll just immediately drop dog or horse meat looted after a fight.

Weather factories conception of “aspects”. Occultist alignments. Think, “red ink helps me learn math”.

For example, steak contains an aspect (think protein but in a trench coat idk) which you might crave, and no amount of the wrong aspect will sate it, but something else of the right aspect will, regardless of if that’s food. Certain moods provide an aspect and require aspects to obtain. Certain things are made easier by the aspect

Which is to say I cult-simulated myself into cleaning my room, eating healthily, and going on runs to I could get enough of whatever to study a foreign language. I don’t really think there’s anything to this but the fact it works at least borders on the concept of chaos magic (the diet Shasta of magic tbh)

I started writing a short story about the possibility that you never die - but to elaborate, everyone has their own perspective and intersecting reality where they never die either. There's just countless beings living forever, until basically the universe either reaches its end or starts all over . I don't know. Never finished it, I'm a terrible writer. But anyway, I hope my silly idea is just that because otherwise you died of all of those things in someone's reality.
This sounds a little bit similar to quantum immortality.

At night, I close all the curtains/blinds, park my truck in the garage, lock everything and turn off all lights, exterior and interior. I also don't decorate for Holidays. I used to do it for practical reasons, like saving energy, avoid robbers and stolen shit, but now I do it because I don't want to wake up and see something unholy staring at me through the window. I don't care if a bunch of skinwalkers want to have an orgy in my backyard, as long as I don't see them and vice versa.

Wasn't originally but husband brought it in. Anything, A N Y T H I N G regarding the Fair Folk of The Hills.
I made a joke ONE TIME, and couldn't find like 6 things. Spent a day appologizing and all 6 things at the end of the day were neatly stacked in the little nest-like thing of the cat tipi where the rods stick out. Yeah I don't fuck with that anymore.

Also anything to do with cats. I grew up around them and have a lot of superstitions. None bad, mostly weather or personality related. I can almost always tell what the weather will be with pinpoint accuracy and have never been wrong because of cats. Cat licks their fur a ton and hyper? Stay inside, you're in for a hell of a thunderstorm. Extremely timid and flighty for no reason?
Likely hail or strong winds with a weird temp spike/dip.
Super sneezy? Heat wave.
And less a superstition, more a belief. Cats have their own pocket dimension. I have literally watched a cat walk into a shadowy corner and come through a doorway on the opposite side of the fucking room. There was light everywhere else but that corner and no objects to hide under or behind. I wouldn't call it supernatural but i'm pretty sure they figured out worm hole glitches or some shit.

Knocking on wood three times. It's supposed to bring good luck.

When I am wrecked with uncertainty I knock on wood three times to ease the stress.

Also not saying the name or mocking spirits and/or ghosts in places where people died. Just in case the whole God thing is real so I don't catch a curse or something.

I've also seen cats noclip before. Feels delightfully magical every time.

I was the victim of a cat teleport prank last night. I was out for a late evening walk and saw eyeshine in a field. When I turned to look at it (wearing a head lamp) I saw the grey cat that roams the area. I turned back to the road, and the same cat was sitting like ten metres ahead of me. When I turned back to the field there was no cat there. I only looked away for a few seconds, so the cat must have teleported.
My theory is that cats exist in a state of quantum superposition. When I observe a field I have a chance to either observe a cat in it, or not. When I observe the path, I have a chance to either observe a cat in it, or not. Any observation made has a chance of containing a cat, or not, therefore sometimes you will observe cats. All observations and non-observations are equally valid until an observation is actually made. A cat is either present, or it is not.

Whenever I hear "good" news about someone who is really ill, I know they're going to die soon. I keep seeing it happen in my friends, and with myself. A loved one will have some cancer, have a really good week, and they're down the next. I don't know if it's a superstition or what, but I don't like hearing good news when someone is really ill. I'd rather hear nothing.
This is something that a lot of medics think and have seen. Gravely ill people often rally before they die. I will bet there’s some work done on it somewhere.
There’s truth to this and it’s been documented, particularly with “terminal lucidity” often displayed by those suffering from end-stage dementia. It usually occurs around a week before the patient’s death; they suddenly go from being unable to function, living in a near vegetative state to somehow able to move and act freely, speak again, and recall details of their life like they were able to before their brain began to degrade. It can allow for closure, but is bittersweet as it usually signifies the impending death of the patient. To my knowledge, no concrete cause has ever been discovered. It’s a medical mystery. I tend to think it’s the brain putting all available resources into one last push for life, like a dying animal that flails wildly one last time before going limp. If you prefer a supernatural explanation, I’ve heard some theorize it’s an act of kindness on behalf of God/whatever deity you believe in, to try and make up for the immense suffering and cruel unfairness of dementia.

I believe everyone can feel how a situation or place "feels" instinctively, everyone can read the vibe but some people have an interest in denying it or ignoring it. Everyone knows and agrees on the vibe of a room, even super autistic people can feel it they just doubt themselves or are trying to come across a certain way. I guess the only part that's superstitious is how strongly I believe this, if a group of people feels off and someone denies that the group feels off I always firmly believe they're lying to me and know they're lying to me on some level.

I only looked away for a few seconds
There's no cause for concern; you're just displaying symptoms of neurodegeneration. You may not have noticed that you stood there slack jawed for about thirty seconds, and the cat casually walked by. That spike protein promoting the misfolding of proteins and turning your brain into a sponge is only natural.

I come to believe that plastic is evil beyond plasticizers mimicking hormones.
I avoid coming in contact with plastics as much as I can, especially with food and clothing. I believe too much contact with plastic will turn you into a weak faggot.
