Where I live IRL is like the part of Springfield Barney Gumble lives in as seen on The Simpsons. Almost no nature sounds, plenty of traffic noise, and even the occasional police siren can be heard. It's visually just as ugly too. No nature but landscaping.

My job has me on the road a lot; the average person is an unacceptably bad driver. What’s really annoying is that some of those internet activists act like they are authorities on everything, when usually they are the opposite. Say what you will about politicians, but at least most of them have some background in law and know how things operate more than the average internet activist (it’s not a high bar though). It also doesn’t help that due to the nature of being an internet activist that they usually go for the most feel good solutions with little to no real world applicability. Finally, if someone does choose to be an internet activist, I’d rather they stick to their own country’s issues rather than trying to use other country’s issues for clout on social media (but that’s not going to happen). Internet activism is a cancer and I wish it would go away soon because the ignorance of majority of those internet activists is astounding and they are making things worse for everyone with each lecturing thread and post.

I've always been more of a "show don't tell" kind of person on anything so it's really funny seeing ecelebs or any person online doing something that really in the end amounts to digital dopamine.

If they don't obey those rules they're breaking the law and their whole business can get shut down. The agencies that enforce this shit send people out to trick employees into breaking these rules specifically so they can fine them or shut them down. So blame the rule makers, not the people who have to enforce them at the cost of losing their job and livelihood.

I only used liquor as an example but there are many other things that are age restricted or just require ID that I really doubt are enforced or punished on any level...

The only things I can think of that are age restricted are nicotine products, porn, booze, and I guess guns if you're American, and the only one the cops won't care about is the porn. If the kid's just looking it on Google, I mean.

It's not a law, but at least in America nearly every store has a policy against selling M-rated games to anyone under 17. Retarded as fuck because at least when I was a kid, only the strictest of strict parents actually gave enough of a fuck to not let their 8-year-old play GTA.

A popular club got shut down for that reason. They sent in some person to test the workers and the workers failed it and gave them alcohol. I even heard of someone who got ticketed because an undercover cop asked an adult to light up their cigarette, which they of course did.
