I wish people were a little less grossed out by spiders. Like, I perfectly understand the aversion from venomous types, and of course one shouldn't let their entire living space get infested by them, but they're so much better at keeping away annoying pests out of my home than insecticides. The few spiders I keep around are always doing a great job at keeping flies, mosquitoes and other assorted critters away from me and my kitchen, I really don't mind leaving them alone in their small little corners as long as they know their places and don't intrude in my living quarters. Most of my friends can't tolerate them at all, so whenever they come over I like to hide my eight legged friends for the time duration of their visits.
I can't stand people talking about how all cats are evil and horrible and all that ridiculous bullshit. I've rescued, adopted and fostered several dozens of cats in my lifetime, and most of them were lovable, adorable little creatures that always managed to make me laugh and make me happy, not to mention show their unyielding affection. I had maybe 2 or 3 cats that were were acting kinda douchey, and even then they all have come from massively traumatic backgrounds, and even they had mellowed out after handling them with patience and understanding to show them they can trust me. All my current cats love belly rubs, you just have to stroke them gently instead of handling them like a Neanderthal with Parkinson's. There's still too many primitive subhuman scum around where I live who will torture and kill cats for fun and excuse it with "cats r all meen", it makes my blood boil. I feel absolutely no remorse over hurting the ones I've managed to catch on the act.
