The original movie had a lot of licensed characters but never did anything smart with them.

I mean you get stuff like Sonic just to make nerds and kids orgasm but forgot the setting of the story was a freaking Video Arcade.

That was a slight peeve certainly. I would've loved to have seen more done with those arcade favorites of my youth but I suppose it was wise to stick to their own original IP's like the Foodfight! dorks did.

I get the feeling they'll point out how Disney seems to be taking the piss out of the internet (the bunny scene being the best example) as opposed to Sony just being blatant promotion and lazy with things.

It's certainly taking a piss on terrible kid games out there. I'm certain there's a game just like that in this trailer.

Doesn't help that Sony's got the unfortunate reputation they've got recently with Sausage Party, Pixels, Ghostbusters 2016 and several of their other films.

Certainly, Disney might be able to hit one out of the park somehow with this.

I'm an optimist. The trailer alone made me laugh more than I'm sure the Emoji movie would have. Plus I really loved the first one.

Though I will admit that it does seem pretty masturbatory, I've liked the recent Disney stuff, especially when compared to some of the other options I've watched with my kid. Besides, Rich Moore, the director, is a Simpsons veteran, so hopefully there's some pointed satirical jabs we haven't seen yet. And I did laugh when Cinderella brandished her broken slipper as a weapon.

This is a company that's terrified to even mention the name Ub Iwerks when talking about Mickey Mouse. Disney's legacy is secured, so I don't see the problem with having a little fun with it.

A brand new Wreck-It Ralph 2 trailer was released on Monday (June 4), and while the whole Disney princess gang was present (including Mulan), there was a lot of discussion surrounding the physical depictions of two of the characters.

Many people on social media discussed how Native American character Pocahontas and Chinese character Mulan look to have had their skin tone whitened and facial features altered.


A lot of Twitter users took issue with how much lighter Pocahontas appears in the trailer:

In the original movie she was way too copper toned they might as well have made her red it just felt like a perpetuation of us being “redskins” so I’m glad they changed her pigment and portraits of Matoaka don’t portray her as a darker skinned native she was more light beige

Pocahontas is perfectly colored! I’m native, a lot of people I know are native! We are red skinned, and we are gorgeous! She wouldn’t look right darker. Her coloring is perfect. NATIVE AMERICANS ARE LIGHT AND RED JUST TAN EASILY

After the first film came out, I sorta felt the whole thing could've worked as a TV series of sorts (or a comic). Always easy to tell stories in shorter burts like that.
