I didn't finish the first one, because, of course, Disney being Disney, did the Disney thing and started the plot with this tired old shit -

"We hate you! We hate you! Go away! Go away!"
Main character gets the picture, and leaves.
Two minutes, TWO MINUTES later, the same people who bitched and moaned over how much they hate that person goes "What have we done?" and regrets what they did when they find their Universe is now in trouble.

And Disney totally fucked up Q-Bert's thing.

I was hoping the second movie would focus more on video games but alas not.

Alan Tudyk was the only good thing about the first movie. As for this sequel, I don't see the point in paying to see Sarah Silverman talk in an annoying voice.

I was hoping the second movie would focus more on video games but alas not.

It was always going to be about the Internet, though a lot of people were hoping it'd focus on online gaming. My brothers and I once joked that they could've brought in Slenderman and have him turn out to be the friendliest character in the entire movie.

Anyway, in hindsight the trailer for the first film made sure to keep the plot and its twists a secret, but I still don't want to see the trailer for the sequel as I like going in films blind if I can. 'Course at the same time, as much as I like the first one, I was always rather iffy about it having a sequel and when it was announced it'd take place in the Internet, that got even more worrisome even though Rich Moore's pretty good with his films. So I'm still not sure if I even want to see this film in theaters, I might just end up looking for a torrent instead.

(Oh good, Jennifer Lee didn't help write the sequel. But the woman who co-wrote this had written a Gizmodo article bitching about a Barbie book.)

King Candy tried to delete her code, which was what made her a glitch in the first place, it was explained in the movie that if she was one of the first 9 that crossed the Finish Line of the race to decide the avatars for the players, the game would get reset, and she wouldn’t be a glitch anymore. She crossed the Finish Line, and fixed the game.

The basic concepts are the same, but what they do varies from film to film. Though in hindsight, almost all films follow a basic plotline of some kind. It’s not the originality, it’s if the story, and characters are fun, and if it’s impressive both production-wise and visually.
