I believe Stalin's plan for a unified Germany post-war was to have it similar to how Austria was during the Cold War, a neutral buffer state rather than part of the Warsaw Pact. I think in the case of Germany he also wanted it to be completely demilitarized.

Not really. The Gay Race Communism is a result of how the Basic Law, the ersatz constitution put upon us by the Allies, is structured. It would take a lot—too much for a democracy—to thoroughly reform it.

To be honest I'm not sure the Soviets even wanted that. A full-size GDR would become too strong for the USSR to control in a pretty short time.

That is unless they engaged in a regimen of continuous kraut kracking that would make the country either completely worthless or lead to nonstop rebellions and partisan warfare.

He did, the Western Allies rejected it in no small part because losing the FRG cost them a lot more than losing the GDR did Stalin. It would also further isolate Austria from their influence. Plus they correctly concluded a neutral, demilitarized Germany would be a lot easier for Communist subversion, especially if it was cut off from programs benefitting other Western European nations.
