They supposedly aged them up and put them in high school but they look exactly like they did when they were five in the original, they're just drawn by incompetent meme-vomiting idiots now.

Wait, they're in high school? I thought they were still in elementary school and Ms. Keane got promoted from kindergarten?

I wish to apologize to "City of Clipsville".

Let me take back everything I've said about Islam. They're completely right that we're a degenerate civilization that needs to be wiped out.

... Thanks to the Powerpuff Girls (2016, of course - well, not just them, either...)... UGH.

To change things up, I'd like to add The Buzz on Maggie, Fish Hooks, and Kick Buttowski, as well as anything from Rob Boutilier, to our growing list of hate-worthy worst efforts out there. All shite with no true substance or style to any of them.

Also, hey, whose your least favorite Cartoon 'reviewer'.

Probably not going to make any fans with this one, but someone's avatar reminded me. Fuck Watamote. Some of the worst otaku-pandering garbage I've seen in recent memory.

:offtopic:Honestly, I can't name a cartoon reviewer I like. I have given some a lot of these reviewers the good ol' college try, but Jesus Christ if I don't find my skin crawling within the first minute of all of their videos. I can usually chalk these people down to 1 of 2 broad types of reviewers.

1.They try to emulate AVGN or early Nostalgia Critic by being the angry funny reviewer, and it's painfully unfunny.

2.They are a pseudo-intellectual half-wit who believe their opinion is the be all end all truth, despite them trying to insert symbolism and motifs into a show that is aimed at a 5-8 year old demographic.:offtopic:

nuPPG is terrible. They actually got a writer on-board who wrote himself into the show as one of the main characters' boyfriends. The main characters are all little girls, by the way. He even voices his self-insert as if it wasn't obvious enough what he's trying to do. He also worked on an episode where some of the main characters twerk out of nowhere.

I know I'm very late for this to the party but youtuber shadow streak bring up a good argument on this.

According to the creator of the show, Jason was supposed to be an ""in joke"" character because of how much they want to stroke their egos with themselves.

Marsreview did a good video about the cartoon community. Is it because he's a pan pizza knockoff but with cringe-inducing black jokes?

I agree THAT exact vid he did was good, but there ain't much else I can agree with on said guy - something about him screams condescending, thus being no better than the people he heavily criticizes. Again - simply because he isn't any better, honestly.

I'm open to what this guy is trying to say, but yeah - looking at some of this guy's other vids, I think he might be a bit of a sperg himself - not enough to be a lolcow, but somewhat close...

EDIT: After watching more of his vids, yeah...

His obsession with this show (and inserting MLP into his shit as well, doesn't help matters with him for me, knowing how obsessed he is with this show...), which a majority of his videos are, have something to do with why I feel this way about him, despite his best efforts to make a worthwhile point, even though I get it by now.

Are you sure? I would hardly call the MC a positive example of a socially awkward person / proto-NEET otaku as she is mean-spirited, delusional and suffer quite a lot.
I must admit that some of the fans indeed leans towards that (that infamous Watamote fan on 4chan and that steam community group) but if that anime counts as otaku-pandering then I don't know how it could be otherwise without outright otaku-bashing sadism with a ridiculously repulsive main character without positive qualities.

I know there's a lot of disagreement to what otaku pandering exactly is, and feel free to disagree, but I think otaku pandering is when a show constantly references otaku culture and behavior and mentions anime tropes or other by anime by name, and that's the entire joke. I don't think otaku pandering has to paint its characters in a strong light, it just has to reference their lifestyle and the content they consume, and more often than not, dumbass otaku eat this shit up. Hook line and sinker. I'm sorry, but I don't find a girl actively trying to get molested on a train funny because it's a trope in some anime, nor do I find her going on message boards funny because that's what otaku and nerds do.

At the end of the day, my biggest gripe is that the show was a comedy, and it hardly made me laugh. The biggest laugh I got out of the show is when the MC's brother tells her to kill herself. Different strokes for different folks when it comes to comedy, but I found Watamote's humor dumb and lazy. It shamelessly appeals to the lowest common denominator, which to me is where otaku pandering comes in.

Any of you who made it to the end of this, congrats. Even I'm cringing at what I just wrote. :)

Anyway, on topic. Had to sit down and see if this nuPPG show was as bad as it was cracked up to be. Couldn't last very long. Wasn't much of a PPG fan to begin with but, damn if I don't see where people are coming from.

I know, It's an year late, But I'll get this straight, The worst animation I've known or least from the 1910's has be to Bray Studios, Since they've devoted and pioneered animated series, their ''animation'' looks crudely made, despite the ''animators'' are comic strip artists and didn't know or studied action yet, to make the animation look fluid or have good quality, their animated shorts look like early motion comics, In fact, they pioneered motion comics.
Here are just examples of their work:
the animation looks okay in this, I do know it looks like an comic strip and the movements don't look like quite fluid.
Looks like an early motion comic If you ask me.
This was never on TV due to the racial/blackface caricatures of Black people, They do look like Golliwog dolls in this.
Thank goodness people don't draw black people like that anymore.

Up next - comparing the Model-T to a 2020 Dodge Challenger.

Thank you. People do need to be reminded this was from a time when filmaking just began and the rules and techniques were just being figured out. This was a learning process not only for the Bray Studios but for everyone. An image that appeared to move on it's own was still a new sight for plenty. Adapting comic strips to animation was the best these people could do as they had nothing else to compare it with.

Yeah. Why shit all over people adapting a new media? I suppose next you're going to shit all over Charles-Émile Reynaud's Theatre Optique for being cel-shaded drawings projected onto a single background:

For the record, this was made in the 1890s, about ten years before the first film cartoon.

It's just for people on the internet who want to know about animation before cinematography, and yeah the first film cartoon, barely had animation because, it only used stop-motion, If you're referring to that other animation ''Gertie The Dinosaur, Then, I agree on that, since They're on the internet.
