Edgy humor is funny because it is not mainstream. If it’s mainstreamed it loses its edge.
Yep, it’s the difference between a bright, safe show like Friends and the perfect, glorious shitstorm that is every episode of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Honestly? I'm pretty hopeful. I see tons of Internet zoomies acting like they would have in 2013 again, minus the gay ass broccoli hair and widespread usage of nigger vernacular. Might take a while for the pendulum to swing, but it feels like its winding up.

Never going to happen.
Society will collapse before that pendulum swings.

It's less of a question though if people on a personal level are edgy and more if there will be a way for mainstream entertainment to be more tolerant of edgy humor. Will there ever be another pre 2017 Idubbz/Filthy Frank content creator that becomes big? Will there be another South Park, Always Sunny style mainstream show?

I don't know. I don't think anyone knows. The issue with mainstream media is that its under the thumb of people who have a vested interest in suppressing what you or I call 'edgy' humor. Will there be an edgy show / content creator that gets big anytime 'soon'? Probably not. But, then again, the way I see it is if there's enough people being edgy on a personal level, it will eventually spur change on a societal level. Eventually, the young people that enjoy shitposting and calling each other niggers might filter out the withered retards and hasidic suits shitting up mass media. Humor changes to reflect the times, and right now we live in very gay times, though I don't see a reason for why that couldn't change now just as quickly as it did last time.

Best case scenario, it happens as a result of the pendulum swinging. A massive cultural backlash that not even globohomo can stop, so even they surrender and join in on making fun of wokism, as if pretending they never had a hand in it.

But if it's a pendulum swing, be prepared for political correctness to return with a fucking vengeance in a few more decades after THAT.

I wish people would get it through their empty fucking skulls that there is no pendulum and there never was. You can't just cut politics into black and white sides like that, it's never that simple.

All of the culture wars shit is a distraction, if you take that away and purely look at both aisles monetary-wise they are exactly the same. Spend a whole ton of money the US doesn't have and pray/delude yourself into thinking it will last which it won't.

Now, if you ask me there will probably be a shift in Government, it's almost guaranteed just based on the current establishment aging so much. It'll likely coincide 2with a major cut in spending which will have to happen even if the Feds choose hyperinflation at first, probably at or near 2030. If spending gets cut to that degree the Federal Government will naturally lose a significant amount of control like a reverse of what happened after the great depression.

Agreed, though I think it's going to be less of a direct cultural backlash, and more of a case of "what's old is new again" and time marching on.

Recently, a very mainstream liberal hipster friend I have showed me some /k/ greentext he saw posted on Reddit. It was the "tally-ho lads" one about defending your house with Colonial-era weaponry. He thought I'd find it hysterical, despite the fact that it's from the mid-2010s and has been re-posted to fucking death. It then really struck me just how excruciatingly lame that whole culture is.

Now, that kind of goes without saying, but this time, I had a bit of a revelation. The cringe I was feeling wasn't just typical "God, Redditors are so fucking gay". It was the exact same nails-on-a-chalkboard feeling as watching a white suburban dad attempting to get into rap to try to relate better to his kids.

Dumbfuck liberal millennial normalfags on Reddit and Twitter of today are the lame parents of tomorrow. Rebellion will be less about free speech, and more about "My dad is in his late 40s and is still really into comic books and gets really mad about bad words, holy shit what a fucking loser."
