People think I'm a magic hacker for knowing how to build computers, mess around with basic programming, play really autistic games, go into a device's settings, use a search engine, and use multiple internet browsers. The closest to hacking I've ever gotten is trying to make Pokemon Ruby rom hacks with pre-made tools. I just wanted to make NPCs say the fuck word.

I don't know where this 40 year old millennial thing comes from. But I wish they would stop. If you are in your 40's you are Gen X. Last I checked they had moved the birth years for Millennials to 83 which would make someone 39 as the oldest millennials.
No one cares about cursive anymore and no one is that worried about it. The only people that make a big deal out of cursive is Boomers and Boomer tier types. This is something that I've noticed. I belong to a lot of old-school 'societies' or 'clubs' in my local area, and it's mostly boomers or older. I've also watched a lot of videos on social media about these hobbies. The difference between the social media info on these subjects, and what you can glean from a conversation with someone who has decades of experience actually doing something is a chasm. The Youtubers and such will just parrot the same thing they have seen other Youtubers doing, it's just a feedback loop of fad ideas floating around in the ether to farm clicks or views, with little to no practical application to test these techniques. These experienced older people will have a much more nuanced understanding of the subject - what works, in which situations it works, and why it works - and they also have the crucial humility required to approach a complicated subject. I shudder to think of the practical knowledge that will be lost once the torch is passed on to more online generations like my own - it's like we constantly draw from this pool of 'fake' knowledge that is all but untethered to the real world.
