Why don't you like sport

I made a running thread and occasionally pop into the weightlifting thread when I want to pretend that I'm actually going to start lifting regularly again. I'm sporty in the sense that I like taking care of myself physically and mentally and also cake is fucking delicious so I sure as hell better be able to run half-marathons. I'm not really an "actual sport" girl. The only pro sport I've had interest in is cycling, becasue endurance sports to me are more impressive than ball-handling sports. The latter always seemed inundated with so many rules and people that are so angry about the whole business. It just never seemed fun to me. That and I have some kind of condition where balls are magnetically attracted to my face.

I want to make a skateboarding thread but I don't know if that is better as a sport board topic or a general board topic. That's my other sporty hobby.

I don't like to watch sports on television because it's not fun if you're not playing it. Except hockey. Hockey's always fun to watch. Along with tennis because tennis players are divas that love to start drama.

why do you like watching big sweaty men touch each other

He was looking for a soccer thread, the sport where if a grown man gets too close to another man one of them will fall down and cry as if he was just gang raped by the entire opposing team. Oiled up nude men wrestling is somehow less gay than soccer and Crystal Palace is the best team.

I only like sports that are halal.

just mirin the sportsmanship.gif

I don't really see any drama from most sports.

You have two diverse teams of privileged mercenaries bashing heads. I like a few sports personalities from the other stuff that they do but the sports themselves are boring.

It does not help that professional sports glorifies celebrity and class and is full of injected politics - both right wing neocon and woke somehow???

I have watched sports TV shows and anime so I'm not necessarily hostile to sports but the leagues aren't that interesting.

Because every sports ball game looks boring and gay and doesn't keep my attention. The ones where they punch and kick each other are cool and sometimes I'll watch if it's on TV.

I like non-directly competitive sports. Cycling, archery, rifle shooting. It's more of an internal struggle and you can practice it as a social activity without any real potential for loss or weird drama. Especially now with how rare hobbies actually are, it says a lot about a person if they're just at work/school so they can run to their club afterwards and do something they enjoy, as opposed to "yass queeeeen lets hit the chluub"

I was into Basketball at a young age, but other interests and Seattle Supersonics going defunct caused me to stop caring. I still occasionally shoot hoops

Most mainstream sport is parasocial celebrity garbage now, and rigged. I stuck with motorsport the longest but that's being regulated to death now too. The Isle of man TT is the last great sporting event left, European hillclimb is good too.
