its because woman have many less neurons than men so they have to hit send and then let their brain recharge for a bit before they can write more

The actual answer is that it's a creation of the way women text or IM each other. Enabled by texting keyboards and messaging speed improving (like with iphones, skype, and now discord), when a woman/girl is talking to her best friend or something, the conversation is moving lightning-fast. It's like as fast as in-person teenage girl gabbing. It's essentially realtime. And hitting enter instead of writing a paragraph is how you keep up with this realtime conversation's flow and not respond to something from 15 seconds ago instead.

I Basically yapping is a self-soothing method or a displacement activity for women, it's just a thing they feel compelled to do regardless of whether they have anything to say. They're just more comfortable when they're making noise.
