I always remember a study where they made men and women sit in classrooms and socialize for twenty minutes and then sit in silence for twenty minutes and the men felt stressed when they had to talk to each other but relaxed when they sat in silence, but women felt stressed when they had to sit in silence and relaxed when they were allowed to talk to each other.

And another study where they tracked the amount of words spoken by men and women in a day and women averaged out more than twice what men did.

Basically yapping is a self-soothing method or a displacement activity for women, it's just a thing they feel compelled to do regardless of whether they have anything to say. They're just more comfortable when they're making noise.

The bright side is that you don't really have to listen to them, most of the time you can just zone out and let them tire themselves out like a kid or a dog.

I can always tell when it's my wife texting. I'll feel the phone buzz once then wait a few seconds, if it buzzes a bunch of times in a row, I know for sure it's her texting me. I've never been wrong yet.
