You’ve been painting more recently, I enjoy your paintings. You’ve said something along the lines you needed to step outside of cartoons and study other artists to become a more rounded artist yourself.
Milton: I think it’s a must to atleast look at all types of art; most cartoonists aren’t looking atother arts, or reality, but spinning everything from the vocabulary formed only by other comics and cartoons. The creators of the old stuff were on deadlines and forced to take shortcuts. A new artist could be basing his own shortcuts on those shortcuts. So you get a cartoon of a cartoon of a cartoon. It’s grounded in falsity.
