So here a question for you gym rats, I only have two days to workout a week do to my job, what would yall recommend for gym routine? It kinda hard to find anything because most people do 3 days a week
I do calisthenics every day of the week before showering and leaving for work. Do 20 crunches and 10 pushups, it'll take you like 3 minutes.

I finally got back into the gym for the first time since Saturday night and 9 days since my last upper A workout.. In a happy little coinvidence I arrived right around 7pm central, and rather than blaring metal through my earbuds I tuned into the Metokur "Buy me tardrails" stream. I was actually worried that my extended absence might have caused me to lose ground, but the exact opposite happened. I either added multiple reps or hit progression indicators on every single lift, even those I had progressed on the last time I did an Upper A workout. I assume the extended recovery period was the reason, but I also cant ruke out the theory that Jims vouce may have heretofore unknown anabolic effects.

Either way it was the best workout I've had in weeks.

AFAIK, which is mostly from podcasts and stuff like that (to be fair, podcasts with doctors in the field like Andy Galpin), you really won't lose any strength from anything short of 3 weeks of abstinence from strength training. And anything like doing 20-30 pushups a couple times throughout the day would slow that down. There's also the fact that nobody's getting enough sleep because sleep is the boring part of getting better at nearly anything.

Back to squatting over 200lbs for reps, and a big guy complimented my form, so that's a nice rush. Plenty of people are moving heavier weights on the squat but I'll take it, since the idea of failing a squat and permanently fucking up my back scares me. I use the safety bars but still, the prospect of failing a heavy squat intimidates me in a way that failing any other big lift doesn't.

Yeah, I realise it was irrational, but I've only just started to be able to see noticable gains in the mirror. My shoulders, arms and traps are much more noticable and well defined that just a couple months ago and having to skip so many days was rankling.

Nice. Don't worry about the number, just focus on hard work and progression!

I've started taking a week off from lifting about once every other month, and I feel like that helps. It also brings back the DOMS when I lift again, which I've kind of started to like. I know it isn't really a sign of a good workout, but it feels like something's happening.

We have jobs to get up for 🙁

What are you training for? In training, you do yourself a huge favor to name specific goals with specific timelines. If you know these things, you'll get feedback that's more helpful toward realizing your goals.

Smart. Calisthenics are a very underrated addition to anyone's program. They help increase all your lifts, you can do them almost anywhere, you can and should do them daily, and similar to compound movements, variations of calisthenic movements pay out dividends.

Faggotry has long been known to be anabolic. If you actually train long enough and consistently enough to build a decent physique (a long shot for you, I know), you'll see that you're going to get far more attention from other men than from women.
i dont know if any of you kiwis watch Bald Omniman's videos but what do you think of the programs he puts out? I want to shake things up completely and I might try his 3 day fullbody program
I've never looked at his programs but I have watched some of his videos. He seems like a competent person with a decent training background. Further, he fully understands the value of really pushing one's limits. His programs are likely worth investigating.

I believe good sir that you are confusing cause with effect. That fags are attracted to those who have undergone anabolic transformation is supportable by the evidence. However if faggotry caused anabolic stimuli, then all who engage in said faggotry would be reaping the benefit of said effects, which is obviously untrue. As evidence I point to two of the most notable faggots chronicled herein, namely Fat Rick Bloblinson and Ethel Olivia Ralph!

On a completely separate note, what do you guys think of piper squats? I first learned about them from AtlasPowerShrugged on instagram, and they seem to be a nice less-lower-back-strain version of squats. Only problem I can forsee is the bar pressing into your back (I suppose a pad could help)

Attached is a crude illustration of its technique

His spotter was retarded for trying to curl the fucking bar up. He bears like half the responsibility though he's clearly not criminally culpable. Did everything wrong for that lift, from the lack of safeties to the stance change for spotting to trying a PR he was clearly unprepared for. Saw that on a thread on /fit/ and was honestly scared thinking about it. He obviously was super dead after the snap but there must have been a few minutes before brain death actually set in. Terrifying.

In better news, did 4 sets of 3 at 140kg today on squats. Suffering from a bit of hip shift, the bar is sinking to the left. Having a pain on the outside of my right knee on occasion, usually after deadlifts, but oddly never when it's under load, but occasionally a short sharp pain there when I start pedalling my bike. Hit 2 sets of 8 at 77.5kg on bench, and another set of 8 at 75. Slowly pushing up my benching power and capacity. Should confidently be able to press 100kg for reps soon. Pulldowns, did 3 sets of 8 at 70kg, getting stronger on that as well.

I've also seen good progress on curls by just picking one variation and sticking to it for most of my curl volume, just focusing on getting stronger on preacher curls at the 8-10 rep range. Managed to add 5 pounds on it fairly quickly, will keep pushing. I'm struggling with finding a tricep builder that I have the same interest in. I've tried decline dumbbell extensions, JM Presses, skullcrushers, pressdowns, french presses, I dunno I'm still looking for the thing that I can just spam.

i guess its kinda a blessing in disguise that my shoulders suck so bad i cannot do a proper squat lol. i did like 295 10 times on the machine which i felt very good about

why does planet fitness never have enough fucking smith machines? its bad enough they are smith machines but you put in lik 4 in the whole goddamn building meanwhile you got 65 treadmills and bikes no one is using!

I have just moved to Phoenix and was looking at planet fitness... now I'm not so sure.

Everything AtlasPowerShrugged posts is based by default. Coolness is anabolic.

Also, since this is Kiwifarms, there is new drama right of the presses in the natural lifting community: a guy called Curlean-X released a video exposing among others Hersovyac, Smart Simple Fit, Candito Training, and AtlasPowerShrugged for liking racist and transphobic memes in instagram (lol).
Apparently FreakieD made a video labed "Racism" about the situation but he deleted it so I can't know what he said.

I don't know about the others but I think Hersovyac is ebuddies with Natural Hypertrophy he's definitely a big time scientific racist bigot misogynist transphobe monster, the guy (hersovyac, not NH) looks like he's from the hyperborean no nigger zone.

I watched as much of the video as I can stand. Like, a minute. All I can say is fucking lol

I skipped a lot of the video except for the parts on Natural Hypertrophy and Subparpowerliftingmemes since I dont really follow anyone else mentioned. I see him trying to nail Natural Hypertrophy, and it's giving tinfoil hat. Also, trying to bash someone for their fans just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. And as for Subparpowerliftingmemes, I dont really agree with the guilt-by-association by selling some racist's product.

Hersovyac constantly wears a Thor's hammer and had a sponsorship in this video from a gymwear company called AncestralMuscle. You'd have to be rather dull to not realise the guy probably isn't ashamed of his heritage.

It's a gay video but watching him try to explain shit like the -ACK meme was really funny.

I don't know why you wouldn't just do split squats it you're targeting quads and don't want the back load. It's a much simpler, safer movement. Part of the reason you see these fitness fags pushing all these archaic or "new" lifts is that if you just told 90% of people to get on a good 5x5 plan -- well where's the money or fame or notoriety in that? Can't exactly market yourself as a guru telling people to do the classic 5 strength moves, eat a protein rich diet and avoid too much booze and sugar.

Stability and "Ouch owie the toes on my back foot cannot hold the weight I apply". Besides, If I REALLY wanted to eliminate back load while having a stable and comfortable movement, well, my gym has the leg press machine.

Anyway my first post was after I tried piper squats IRL for the first time, idk, I did find them pretty simple and comfortable.

While that might be true, I feel that monkey-brained reversion to this argument could very well get in the way of innovation. Remember that at some point our beloved go-to lifts such as the bench press (invented in the late 19th century), Bulgarian split squat and Romanian deadlift (cold war era) were new and potentially "gimmick" lifts.

That's not to automatically say AtlasPowerShrugged (and other influencers) and everything he puts out is automatically epic and based. But if I were to find a new exercise I would at least like to see if it passes the sniff test and see if it works for me

Have any of you needed to rejuvenate your long term motivation (more substantial than motivation meme videos)?
I made really good progress for a bit over 2 years (usually six days a week, 160lbs-185lbs similar bf%) and have been struggling to lift consistently for the last six months or so. I’ve tried changing my split, adding novelties, etc but nothing has given me back the drive to spend more time in the gym.

Does anyone have any personal anecdotes about regaining motivation?
