Swole Kiwis, I have a medical question. I've been having what feels like muscle pain in what is roughly my heart area. What concerns me is that it only seems to be on the left side. Y'know, where the heart is.

It seemed to start when I started using a heavier kettlebell for Turkish getups, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Is this normal muscle pain, or do I need to see a doctor?
My guess is that you have a rib out of place. Go see a chiropractor. One that actually adjusts people and not one that swings crystals over your body.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor. (But my wife is.)

If breathing in deep or certain movements cause the pain, it's probably not anything to do with your heart.

As a mild powerlevel: my dad once had chest pain. Rushed to the hospital. Several hours later they conclusively prove (ran tests and shit) there's nothing wrong with him. Ended up writing it off as muscle pain.

Any tips for getting the motivation to go back to lifting? Currently dealing with some other life issues and I can't get the motivation to go to the gym. Was fully motivated to do 2 a days on the weekends and think about a workout every day but now I am just sitting around on a Sunday knowing I can easily work out on my schedule but don't feel like it

Nigger put your phone down and go do it. Right now. As soon as you read this stop doing whatever you are doing and go do something physical.

Honestly, just do it. Even if its a shit workout, its still better than just sitting on your ass and doing shit.

I do it out of spite and enjoys that certain people look worse than me (fags). So that's one thing.

Happens to the best of us. Being a man is the constant struggle between trying to keep your heart from killing you and not wanting to look gay for going to a doctor.

Never rely on motivation, it's bullshit. Don't think about it, just make a schedule and stick to it. I'm not motivated to workout. I'm in the final stages of a cut and the last thing I want to do in a calorie deficit is lift heavy shit. But when it's time to lift, I start lifting. And once I've started, I'm locked in.

I forgot how much you bloat when you first start the gym. Makes getting weight loss numbers harder to see at first. Hopefully, this being the 4th week, I'll see stabilization and slow steady loss. Also, can't find a fucking body tape to get measurements.

Anyways, 700cal deficit, and more than that most days. I forgot just how much food 2800 calories is when it's clean. I'm having to supplement with protein shakes just to get in enough calories and protein to keep my metabolism from going into starvation mode.

In case this is confusing, I've done this before, but I married a woman who is a fucking amazing cook and loves to take care of me, so I gotta do it again now. At least I know what tf to do from day 1 and it's so easy. Also, no trainer this time, so I get to do all the fucking weights I want instead of HIIT all the time. I'm going for muscle building for steady BMR increase this time instead of death by cardio.

Honestly, just get yourself there, even if it's only to do 2 exercises. I've been struggling with motivation recently too, but I just tell myself going and dropping a set off of each of my exercises, doing lower weight or skipping something entirely is better than not going at all.

Good luck! :)

Halfway through my exile from lifting today. Running has proven to be a lot more fun than I anticipated, the extended break from focused cardio (I do still ride a bike everywhere, about 15-20km a day) had a lot of unexpected benefits. The mental toughness you develop doing challenging sets helped me a lot with running. Hit a 9 minute mile yesterday, ran continuously for a full 10 minutes. Fucking unbelievable for me. Excited to see how much I can push it, definitely going to make a mile before lifting a part of my warmup routine.

Besides that, did hanging leg raises, weighted crunches, russian twists, lying leg raises, and glutes ham raises.

Start out doing small work outs and adding more to your routine over time. And dont be hard on yourself when you are doing an exercise and feel like you should be stronger.

After years of not exercising and really letting myself go I started working out with my kettle bell and it was just short 20-30 minute work outs and I fucking hated it at first. I was running out of breath and struggling to finish my sets and Im not even using a heavy weight but its been a month so far and Im doing hour long full body exercises and making good progress. Now I genuinely enjoy it and have to buy a heavier kettle bell soon.

I was steadily losing weight and then started taking creatine again and instantly gained 5lb of water. I know it's just water. I know it's a good thing. I know I'm still losing fat, but that doesn't stop it from fucking with my head for an entire month.

I am trying to lose weight and I swear my fucking scale must be broken. My clothes are getting baggy, I am visibly thinner and slightly more muscular. But according to the scale I havent lost a single pound.

And yes Im counting my calories. Im not eating any more than 1600 calories.

I decided to just focus on what I see in the mirror and stop weighing myself. Do you think creatine would be good to use even though Im trying to slim down?

The best guide is the mirror, and creatine is good to take because while it may make you heavier, that's because your muscles are holding more water than normal, but that allows you to work a little harder and look leaner.

Creatine will not help your scale number go down.

What's the time scale you're looking at by the way for this cut, how long have you been at this defecit, how long have you been lifting? It's very possible you've put on as much muscle as you've lost fat if you're new to lifting and it's been a month or two.

I have been lifting and eating at a deficit for 1 month and Over the past 3 days I've also made a point of cutting out all carbs.
