I don't skip stretching, but in my defense, I "get" why Mentzer said that stretching is rather unnecessary, because you're supposed to do all exercises, all reps, by performing max stretching and max contraction. So if you do your shit right, in theory you shouldn't need to stretch after you're done.

It's tough, but doable.
Yeah well the reality is most people who go to the gym don't lift correctly, have jobs outside the gym (Office, construction), health problems other sports. Sure if your a professional weight lifter you might be able to forgo stretching but the the average gym goer they should not.

Also a lot of power lifters, strongmen do dynamic stretching which is kino.

In that case, I'd blame the personal trainers in the gym. If you're a complete noob who wants to get in shape, you rely on the experience and knowledge of those people. If they half-ass their job and tell people to do the bare minimum, without good supervision and advice, then it's no wonder why many people get put off by the idea of constantly working out.

All they do is chit chat with the gym bunnies, after all.

My gym has on call trainers so they are seldom seen lmao.

Sounds like a terrible gym for noobs...
Eh not really. Has everything for every level outside of strongman stuff. Quite a few people who go to my gym just want to look good (Why some people turn to steroids) aren't there to lift high numbers and put in real effort. Which is good because there is never a wait for the squat racks or benches most of the time.

Can't really blame the trainers or the gym if people just don't want to take personal training sessions.

Some good news: I got a more aggressive treatment for my wrist tendonitis, bad news is I'm out of the game for a couple weeks. As a result, missed my deadlift test. -_-. Today just did running and ab stuff. Figure I should just avoid gripping the bar for the next two weeks as the doctor recommended and focus on weight loss and getting my running up. Had a good run today, usually I'm just a shit rooner but I managed to run 5 minutes without getting winded (some accomplishment I know). Still smashed my old mile time by like 10 seconds, so I guess lifting weights and ignoring cardio was good for my cardio in some marginal sense. Knocked out a couple sets of russian twists, decline situps, and leg raises. Tomorrow I'll add in leg press and leg curl and glutes-hamstring raises, about all I can manage at the moment that doesn't really involve using my arms.

Dude looks like Nick Rekieta if he started sticking needles in his ass instead of liquor bottles.
Honestly, dont even pretend like you get any gains without butt chugging a jackdaniels/pre workout cocktail.

Jokes aside. I've been working out for a month now and I've been making some decent gains and losing weight.
I was looking to get advice on two things.
1, whats the best pre workout for a stim junkie like myself?
2. What can I do about brainfog post workout? Sometimes after I get a good hard workout in, I feel mentally fatigued. I try eating, drinking water, having more caffeine, nothing seems to help.

Why does everyone think you need preworkout to workout? I would guess your brain fog is the “come down” from your preworkout.

The cons of shitty sleep far outweigh the pros of preworkout so be careful with the caffeine. Redcon1's Total War is good but 350mg of caffeine is just too much for me. I typically stick with ON's Amino Energy these days.
If you are working out while in a calorie deficit you should expect some brain fog. Less caffeine and more sleep should help.

I know it's widely bashed, but supposedly psychotic labs insane has 400mg caffeine and an ungodly amount of yohimbine.

But also maybe curb your caffeine addiction?

There are other stims than caffeine, and PWO's with just that is shitty. Nobody is talking about a need for PWO's, but a want.

Pre-workout abuse gave me a heart condition. I prefer sleep now.

But Anabolic Warfare's Nuclear Armageddon was the one.

Been making a point of trying to get enough sleep, maybe somedays I got less sleep than I realized. And yes, Im in a calorie deficit cause Im trying to lose weight while Im building muscle.

I'll look into it, and One of these days I'll probably curve my caffeine addiction. Right now Im just focussing on replacing my alcohol and pill addiction with a lifting addiction, sober for a few months now cause I don't wanna end up like Ethan Ralph.

I used to abuse worse things than pre workout and afaik my heart is fine, so Im gonna look up your recommendation.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Way to go on the sobriety. I have been sober for almost a decade. Keep it up. It’s the hardest thing you’ll ever do but it’s the most rewarding thing you’ll ever do. Life is too short to spend it fucked up all the time.

Caffeine has a half-life of around 6 hours so if you take 350mg of caffeine at around noon, at 10pm you've still got roughly two Red Bull's worth of caffeine in your system. Being addicted to caffeine is fine, you just need to control the dose and timing. Poor sleep quality is basically reverse steroids.

Some people go to the gym for health reasons. Real niggas go to the gym so they don't look like Ralph and that "Nobody cares about your muscles" TikTok twink.

When I first started working out I was just doing it to lose weight but now I just enjoy getting stronger. Nothing beats the feeling of using the same weight for a few weeks and picking it up one day and thinking, "Damn this shit is kind of light now." I want the body of a greek god, I want rage pigs and soy boys to cower in fear when they gaze upon my remarkable form.

Swole Kiwis, I have a medical question. I've been having what feels like muscle pain in what is roughly my heart area. What concerns me is that it only seems to be on the left side. Y'know, where the heart is.

It seemed to start when I started using a heavier kettlebell for Turkish getups, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Is this normal muscle pain, or do I need to see a doctor?
