I find it hilarious that Jace trying to live vicariously through Stryker breaks down exactly in the same way his real life does - He doesn't have a job in the game, so he doesn't have any money to improve his situation, which upsets him. He can't see that he acts the same way in real life (unmotivated to work, would rather chill, get blazed and play video games) and has the exact same problem because of it.
