I just realized the reason Daman is still in the industry (he's gonna be in Trails to Reverie.....goddamnit) is because he didn't sue and the accuser was forced to recant and won't admit anything now. Whereas Vic sued instead of laying low for a bit. It is very unfair.

I am just so disappointed in Ren. I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she was at least trying to be funny by mentioning some absurd thing being discussed in the video stream, and then I thought she was just poorly repeating a meme like a boomer who didn't understand it, but no. It's just a really stale and bad 'people who vote wrong are stupid' political take misapplied outside of politics because she's obsessive.
The reasoning on display here is stunning. 'You can't be spiritual or religious at all unless you adhere rigidly to my arbitrary demands of spirituality'. Which scripture says 'thou shalt not sue'? Even the Dalai Lama has been lobbying for secular countries to march armies into his homeland to forcibly free it from China for decades. My point in saying that is that even if you use the scriptures that do apply here, nobody should reasonably expect even a devout person to always 100% apply their religious teachings in the most ideal possible way. If even the dude who claims to be the embodiment of the head of a religion featuring pacifism wants other people to do a violence for him, it's absurd to go 'if you don't react in the way I believe your religion dictates 100% of the time every time, you're a fraud'.Guessing Stace has nothing better to do except hate watch Vic.

You probably don't even follow the religion yourself anyway, man, you're not a good judge of what a person should do to follow it.
Nah, what this really shows is how much of a nothing burger online accusations really are. Even when there's evidence of the accusation, it means nothing. Daman used a C&D threatening letter on his accuser, but his accuser had no power, so he backed down immediately. It didn't work out that way for Vic because it was character assassination orchestrated by the heads of the industry. Literally nothing Vic could have done would have cleared his name and corrected things. Laying low wouldn't have solved anything, because this wasn't a random nobody showing up and accusing Vic of something (people did that constantly to 0 effect), this was and is Monica Rial contacting every single one of Vic's employers and industry connections with a sob story about how he omega raped her and using her own position and leverage to get him fired repeatedly. I would argue that a situation like this is quite literally what defamation and TI laws are made for. His only play if he wants to exist in the industry without getting lucky enough for it to implode on itself out of its own corruption was and remains going through the legal process.
At least we live in a time where there's a lot more resources for independent work out there. Vic can put more focus on streaming on Twitch if he wants to (I don't really know why he doesn't, but the man uses it like a boomer instead of a streamer) and he could get in on the fan dubbing and indie dubbing scene. Ordinarily I'd say that's a downgrade, but when you consider how little the industry actually pays its VAs, I wouldn't be surprised at all if going into indie productions and getting paid that way will make him as much or more than 'the industry' was making him, especially considering he still gets to go to conventions to make the bulk of his money.
I still support him continuing to appeal to the SCOTX and - if necessary - the SCOTUS, to be clear. My statement isn't meant to imply he should give up on trying, because Vic deserves his reputation to be repaired and Monica deserves to be ground into the dirt by the legal system. I'm just remarking that if Vic gets into the indie dub scene at this point he'll probably be able to do what he loves and make as much or more as he would have in Funi. I, for one, would buy some Steam or mobile game where Vic voiced some character in it. He just needs people who aren't absolute mayors of Spergtopia like that Fantasysoft guy. IMO indie devs are a good path to take anyway, as temper tantrums on twitter are going to have much less effect if the guy who's calling the shots knows going into things what to expect and that "Vic whipped his dick out and beat off furiously on stream in front of three women!" tweets are, in fact, a lie.
