As low as the chances of SCOTX taking it up, that's at least a reasonable hope. I seriously doubt SCOTUS is going to take up a case decided by a state court about a state procedural rule.

This is what it always boils down to, in the end. They reframe innocence as depravity and project rheir own, unacknowledged desires onto everything. They're the classic example of criticising in everyone else the thing they most despise, or fear, about themselves.

I may troll about Vic opening an onlyfans or becoming a vtuber to beat the Funi clique with their own degen, but I do sincerely think the best possible path for Vic is if he'd stop being such a boomer and embrace tech more. Not just one stream a week on Twitch, but a bigger presence both Twitch and Youtube. Stream signings, do voice impressions, karaoke, dub comics, games, and fanfics, do just chatting streams, boomer his way through games that make him nostalgic, whatever. I think he is old enough that he underestimates the sheer power that independent media has now. The problem with in-person signings and appearances is that they're often also run by out of touch boomers, and so a crowd of maybe a dozen nobodies shooting angry tweets or emails with complete nonsense accusations at them can get him cancelled despite hundreds to thousands of people showing up to support him. The problem with industry roles is that Funimation-Crunchyroll practically has monopoly power over it in the states, and is extremely nepotistic, so the people with the power flex their power to interfere with him at every opportunity.

Twitch and Youtube are different. Kickvic simply does not have the manpower to get Vic ejected from those platforms - had they, the tiny streamer that he is now would have long been yeeted off Twitch. There's a lot of weaknesses in the system being exploited to ruin people with wrong-think, I get this, but the thing about Vic is that he's not being canceled for wrong-think or wrong-speech. He's being defamed because jealous harpies are angry he won't have sex with them and won't sign their gay incest fanart. These are not things that can be leveraged to unfairly ban a person from media platforms or payment processors. Vic's actual content is as vanilla, banal, and wholesome as possible. He might support free speech, but he's not employing it, because he's too kind. The only material they have to use to say Vic is anti-gay are comments he made saying he didn't think some of the characters he voiced were gay, back in the 2000s. People said 'I don't think gays in real life should be allowed to marry' in the 2000s and aren't held accountable for it unless they continued to echo that sentiment into the present. Furthermore, other things they can use against Vic for in-person events are things like "Vic is a physical danger to other guests and to visitors because he might snap and rape them in public" and "I'm scared of being in the same state as Vic, so I'll break my contract with you if you don't break yours with Vic." - neither can be leveraged for a digital setting. They have to make up new internet accusations, and if someone like Ren ran to Twitch claiming that Vic has been grooming minors online for decades, they'd only hire him.

So really, truly. While I support Vic continuing to go to cons, and Vic regaining both his reputation and his old roles + new ones going forward, I really think that Vic should invest more time and effort into the online scene. There's honestly so much money to be made through it that it's almost disgusting. This is a man who can handle 10-12 hour nonstop signings after traveling via plane in the early morning and not break for lunch, imagine the kind of marathon streams he could pull off. If a thousand people will fly out to a convention, and pay money to get through the doors, just to stand in line for hours and pay him for thirty seconds of talking to him and a signed print, imagine how many people will spend money to send him a super chat to get him to read it and answer them, or get him to sign a print that gets mailed out to them afterward. And there is absolutely nothing that Sabat, Rial, or any of his seething jealous coworkers will be able to do to stop him. He was ahead of the curve before at conventions, he should take this chance to be ahead of the curve again.

So long as he keeps his pants on during streaming time, I mean.

Please, Vic. There is no Vic without gay pants.

While I do agree with the majority you say here, but " Vic is that he's not being canceled for wrong-think or wrong-speech." I believe the wrong think does play a part of it. All the funi whales are of the same hivemind, and if Vic was a left leaning gay man they would all be for Vic raping children like mills and other funi VAs. Just my opinion though.

While wrongthink may play some small part of it, any time people talk about why the Funi clique hates Vic, his right wing views are practically mentioned as an afterthought. This is probably because he's not really very vocal about his political standpoints. The vast magority hate him for his religion, because they have a twisted view that anime should be degenerate, and anyone daring to introduce the concept of religion into it is messing it up for everyone and probably a fanatic for putting it somewhere it doesn't belong. There's also a lot of hate directed toward him purely out of jealousy and the power of Sabat's never ending nigh-20 year defamation train. None of this applies to the population of Earth at large. Even Hollywood, notorious as it is for punishing wrongthink in its actors, would probably be fine with Vic. It's honestly kind of weird that the Funi clique are this obsessed with Vic's religion, especially when half of them claim to share his religion. Who actively thinks, in contrast to all presented evidence, that someone being Christian automatically means they hate all gay people anymore?

Come to think of it, I wouldn't even be surprised if Greg's issues with Vic in this matter were rooted in stuff Sabat said to him. There are other gay Funi VAs who had no problem with Vic, but Greg irrationally believed since the early 00s that Vic hated him purely for being gay, despite Vic contesting this and clearly not doing so. It'd be extremely easy for ol' two face to lean in and tell Greg he definitely heard Vic saying things behind his back, if Sabat wanted to. But I digress. A huge chunk of the Vic hate from the Funi crew comes from being a clique following the leader, and that leader arbitrarily deciding on sight that he hated Vic due to a combination of 'he looks gay' and 'anyone pretending to be holy like him must be hiding degeneracy worse than anyone'. In reality, what comes out of Vic's mouth are all acceptable things. He may not be woke by any measure, but everything he says is sponsor safe and within the window of 'this is fine to say'. The fact that Funimation's online cancellation attempt succeeded in granting Vic more fans, and barely losing him a single one, is telling.

My tl;dr here is that he hasn't said any true wrong-speech (most of the civilized world like it when you're religious but polite about it, ask any politician), and what wrong-think he has is simply not extreme enough to successfully cancel him online or give him any trouble on places like YT and Twitch. Therefore, my point in saying it remains: he won't experience wrongthinker fate on YT or Twitch, and so despite the flaws and exploits that very much exist in both of those sites, Vic would be able to flourish in both of those without any real issue. Funi doesn't have the reach to ruin his life on those.

I think the other thing was that Vic was very serious about his craft, and the established people weren't as serious, and Sabat didn't like the competition potential and having to change how he runs shit.

Part of it is as you said, anti-religion, the other part is that they view themselves as celebrities with a cool kids club.

They don’t like that Vic doesn’t need to be a part of the cool kids club to be popular and want him gone in order to feel superior.

The manga/anime you were talking about is Interspecies Reviewers, I believe. Them viewing it as degenerate is laughable compared to what is in the Guro/Hentai scene.

The thing with wrong think is that you don't necessarily have to say anything to victimized by it, look at Chris Pratt who didn't attend a dem party for biden with his other marvel cast members and is now the second coming of hitler (like they accuse everyone of being who they hate), and personally, I believe they make his right wing views an afterthought because it's a weak point to use against him so they need to concentrate on the fabricated lies they made which are easier to not only get a community to hate you but to easily get your objective of having him removed. Can't fire/blacklist someone for religion and views but you can fire them for being predators.

I think another reason they concentrate on his religion because it's easy to use against him paired with his allegations to which they can form more lies to use against him. "Vic says be nice but he sued his victims! That's not what Christians do!" Also, something about the combination of straight, cis-gendered, religious male just sets off the left.

It's even funnier when you realize half of them (the ladies at least) started out back in the day doing pervy shit. Like Stallone staring in pornos before getting his big break ("Italian Stallion" wasn't just Rocky's nickname if you know what I mean). Some of them embrace it, some just want to hide their involvement in it, and it seems like some want to actively """atone""" for it. If you're good at recognizing voices and can hear through their various pseudonyms, you'd be amazed at who has done what over the years.

A voice-double did the H-scenes for the OVA, though. Although I swear she actually did do actual sex scene moaning in another series, I'm just drawing a blank on what that was--and I don't think it was El Hazard where she voiced the lesbian Alielle Relryle. Maybe it was Monster?

Then there was Sandy Fox who supposedly was squeaky-clean, but she did do at least one hentai.
