I'd be willing to accept gag dubs if they gave people an "faithful" version as well like they did with Super Milk-chan.
Too bad Super Milk-chan's faithful adaptation was super-duper boring and lame even though the landlord character still had a gay lisp. Also it's hilarious because Monica Rial was Tetsuko in the faithful version, so she was literally unfunny compared to Marcy Bannor.

That's more something I feel is more open to interpretation if anything. While they both Dedede and Dubuya both have Texas accents the personalities are very different but if it's true then that is way more intelligent and funny then any Orange Man Bad jokes that were everywhere when Trump was President.
There's apparently an interview with Ted Lewis where he said he based Dedede's laughs and his way of speaking (mispronunciations especially) off of Bush, but I don't know where to find it. Either way, it's not gone unnoticed with fans.

I don't like or care about Ghost Stories, but I think it gets a pass because NO ONE thinks that one is "accurate". Everyone knows it's a dumpster fire of improv that is nowhere close to the original.

Shin-chan is basically the Japanese South Park. But again, Americans largely didn't give a shit about it overall. It ran on Toonami and yet still has never really had a huge following. Claiming otherwise is like saying sports anime have been huge in the US when anyone with any connection to the industry will tell you they're not.

Those both also came out in a TOTALLY different era of anime fandom. Crunchyroll (for example) was founded the exact same year Shin-chan was licensed, so streaming was not the primary way most people got their anime. (DVD sales were still robust in that era because for many, that's how they watched so viewers were largely self-selected) Other shows were also graded on a MASSIVE curve because they were compared to things like "Card Captors" and the firm belief that Sailor Stars would never get a US release and earlier seasons of Sailor Moon were also heavily edited.

In other words, in the early to mid 00s, while they were certainly hated, heavy edits were often the norm and considered an unfortunate cost of business. They were also a long running "excuse" for sticking with fansubs/piracy even if there was an official release. Are you conceding that as a valid response for people who don't like the edits?
I could write a whole lot over this but I rather keep it short. Old days, localizing was needed and had to make sense for the audience to which plenty of Japanese stuff didn't but nowadays, thanks to the internet, it's so much easier to understand all the Japanese humor, or look up stuff they use to understand it so more accurate translations are wanted/needed. People didn't like the heavy edits once they learned about it, and while I didn't see a whole lot of anime in the old days, I didn't see much politics being used to force opinions onto people unlike the few examples given.

Frankly, I havne't wathced a dub since 2017 and I don't feel like I've missed anything. The only scenario I could see myself wathcing another dub is if Vic some how gets another role. I'd watch that just to support him, but that probalby won't happen so who cares about this stupid garbage industry at this point. They made their own bed when they chose obvious liars over their customers. "Localization" by outsiders will never be superior to the original Japanese versions regardless.

Honestly, the last dub I actually watched is the Broly movie. Other than that, I just casually listen to dubs if I happen to have a channel on that happens to have an anime on and just critique cause I think it's fun.

Forgot to post this days ago because of the DDOS

"Vic has a pretty decent case for malpractice against Nick. It’ll never happen, obviously. It’s mutually assured destruction. But Vic would very easily be able to prove Nick’s representation. The only dispute would be showing whether Nick was more responsible than Beard."

Remember back in 2019 when Monica and Jamie went to cons and there were photos that showed their autograph lines were empty? I'm almost expecting that to happen all over again now that the podcast is out and people who aren't simps remember how repugnant these people are.

Also, Rekieta does make money off you Monica, he may not get your money specifically but you keep giving him material to work with.

What are the odds they try to go to a convention and do a live recording of their podcast from the site?

At this point, Nick could get "I'm not and was never Vic's lawyer" tattooed on his forehead and speds on twitter still wouldn't get it.

At this point, we should point out that Nick has no contract with Vic, and let them explain that you don't need a written document to have a contract; after they spend so much time explaining that Vic never had any contract with the conventions that announced him as a guest because no written document have been made public, that would be fun to make them work to disprove themselves...

I feel like each time I read one of Bettik's posts a couple hundred thousand neurons of my brain an hero themselves.

The other thing would be “Legal GFMs are very anal in their setup and I can’t touch that money even if I wanted to.”

The twitter tards are beyond retarded. They still take "I did not" to mean he admitted to it. Most basic things and common sense are beyond them.

An unfortunate side effect of reading something from the fat and retarded.

I have to wonder how sad and lonely this person must be if he has to perform BACKGROUND CHECKS on his friends?
Very. They live on twitter and spend all day being autistic.

They are literally reinterpreting the "I did not" as Vic is either lying or is in denial of what they think he actually did. They simply cannot accept the fact that he's telling the truth/being honest.

These are the same kinds of people who ridicule right-wing conspiracy theorists and see them as a serious problem yet here they are acting exactly like that stereotype towards the allegations against Vic.

Andy's an obsessed lunatic. And last I checked, Patrick had me blocked. So, if anyone can't hold an argument, it's still him. I honestly don't understand how I've contributed to their apparent insanity. But hey, it's not like the former was ever childish in any way, right? *Laughs in previous posts.*

They're all obsessed lunatics who can't hold an argument. They like to spend their time on twitter all day, jerking each other off pretending to be intellectuals who are too illiterate to see how retarded they are. twitter was a mistake but it at least gives us idiots to laugh at.
