Whats with the rumor that gav thorpe finally fucked off and that he was the reason eldar were locked in perpetual torment via retardation? Ive also heard that xenos books just dont sell as well, so authors will just write Space Marine books for the cash.

Ultimately though I think its impossible to write consistent quality novels of an inhuman perspective. I think the best novels of 40k show the human and inhuman in equal measure. The human lense is essential to see how a nonhuman functions and provide a baseline to compare and contrast.

I probably could highlight the armour but I prefer subtle highlights before a wash (the lash has this for example) and the purple is too nice. Could do soemthing with contrast on the sword but I'm tired and can always come back to it.

What color(s) did you use on the lash? I like how it turned out.

I've had GG on my list but still haven't gotten around to it. It's one of the few series that I haven't heard anything bad about.

It’s good. I liked the series. Sometimes Abnett does Abnett things and it’s… tiring… but the first series are peak Gaunt’s Ghosts compared to the rest imo

Dark Hot Pink across the whole thing. Magenta highlights. Dark Magenta the tip. Magenta wash the whole thing.

I love these colours, use them a lot on my EC

Managed to order annotated Cain despite GW being a bunch of retards so the whole website fucked itself when pre-orders went live.

The Sabbat World book isn't linked anywhere on their website ONLY in NA stores but you could get to it on the backend so I ordered that as well.

It should have been better coordinated. Its all over the place with low value stories and its out of order. They needed to lay the groundwork better and not write words that are pointless. There is a reason why read orders for key events and certain factions exist.

Of the 60ish books, 20-25 are of value and its mostly frontloaded in the first 10 imo. If they actually planned properly, it would probably be 30ish books that has a slower start from Ullanor and faster push towards Terra.

Another book question, which codexes are best to acquire? Im eyeing off Eldar, Dark Eldar, Sisters and EC (or CSM)

I'd have to look but Amazon instead of local is $17 for the Medium, $25 for a bundle of Burnt Umber/Burnt Sienna/Raw Sienna ink, $14.88 (nice) for the Carbon Black ink, all Liquitex brand. A quick peek at Hobby Lobby's Amsterdam inks suggests they're $6 each locally, but I can't confirm they have all the colors.

There will be a bit of a delay getting the green for the John Blanche wash so I might make a simple Payne's Grey wash to test out in the meantime on some metallics. The goal is the inside an Imperial ship so I'm hoping it gives the right vibe.
