I don't think GW is ever known for intelligence (or coherent rule-writing).
True.

If Warhammer stores are being mandated to paint their new demo Space Marines blue, I'm guessing it's very likely that subsequent starter sets, Combat Patrols, and individual kits derived from the Armageddon box are going to have the Space Marines be blue in the corresponding promo photos. I see this as being practical from an in-store marketing standpoint because red Blood Angels are sold as a separate faction from Space Marines, and GW does not want to confuse new customers with boxes of red Space Marines that are actually meant to correspond with all of the generic blue Space Marines boxes. This will also allow for GW to include the usual generic/Ultramarines transfer sheets that lack Blood Angels decals.

Assassinorum Kingmaker has been a blast so far, just got to the part where the actual operation begins and watching Sycorax play her role has been a joy. I'm also enjoying the portrayal of the ancestors inside of a knight.

We got a worse refresh than the FUCKING SPACE WOLVES. HAVE WE NOT SUFFERED ENOUGH.
YOU HAVE AN ENTIRE RANGE IN AOS WORTH OF BITS TO BUILD BETTER. It is simply a skill issue.

What of the sons of the Istvaan legions? What of the Grey Knights and the autists who make up the sons of Titan?

Or those who play the aeldar, who provide something for our marines to use as a flashlight. Have they not suffered?

Lord have mercy on the squatted and the lost, to be discarded and forsaken by the powers that be, all for Germans and Canadians, all the variety of the guard, gone, for negro hesdsculpts.

You know nothing of suffering brother, I hope you never do.

To be fair, you have to put in actual work to make the Sigmarine bits look good or else you end up like that retard a couple hundred pages back with unconverted Sigmarines in Sons of Horus colors.

My personal favorite bad WD artist is the Simon Elsen. Background to these images, this guy had a friend who edited for WD, got his SoH army in a issue, and it's a trainwreck. I could go through every issue with this (I play Heresy, we a fucking rivet counters), but the major ones are:
  • Full AoS models for HQs
  • Painting them as SoH while saying they are early crusade (so they should be Luna Wolves)
  • Making Razorbacks
  • Making them SoH when he plays 40k and played them as Ultramarines
  • Predator Annihilators before the retcon
I'd honestly recommend to stop waiting for official GW shit and just get recasts or 3d printed bits alone @daniel day
There was this 3d stl release called "The Zachariel Project" which was this treasure trove of BA specific bits, if you dont mind that just say the word and I can link it to you. I also know of a decent chink recaster, although I haven't used it since 2023

Fantastic novel, author puts out work. I wish we'd get more novels like it where we can watch lesser explored groups just be good at their job.

Apparently grimdark future sells a two player starter set at a store near me. Has anyone played?
I haven't played since 2.50 but its fine, it has a pretty good but unfortunately online-only army builder, decent adaptations of warhammer models with Alternative activations, very killy game, simpler rules and setups than 40k so quicker games, made by a furry.
The starter set has an OC donut steel Space Lizardmen and not-necrons that you could use as 40k proxies. From what I've seen they're not exactly the height of detail but otherwise they look pretty good

Whats the sigmarines with the wings again? An expensive yet interesting way to give sang guard their wings back. Id print the wings butfdm wouldnt do them justice.

No numbers yet but GW threatening price hikes on a lot of stuff. Good. 2k points is a lot of models.

The other day when seeing different Horus Heresy retardation i got reminded of the Dornian Heresy fanfiction, its pretty neat, you can tell it was written just before the HH turned into a 60+ book clusterfuck 2010 (!) even if pseudo Tau Ultras and Necron Iron Hands are a bit retarded
I always had it saved on my desktop, shame my PC fried itself but was about a year ago and it's easy to find. There was also the Theoreticus Heresy but I haven't got around to that. /tg/ even made one but it's hard to piece together properly.

I have an fdm printer and its great for terrain and bases but man, sometimes I wish I got a resin printer for small bits to add to models. GW do give you bits but theres so many stls out there for different guns, heads etc. The shotgun loadouts are a good example of alt weapons.

While I wouldn't go full 3d print armies the customisation out there is excellent.
I don't even know how bits would work any more given all the recent GW models I've dealt with only go together one way.

I do buy a lot of Stargrave for bits tho.

Can confirm. I was talking to my local GW manager while he was working on the Ork half of the box. His part-timer is painting the Marines and GW mandated they be Smurfs. He clearly thought it was as stupid as I did.
The store manager near me has to deal with headaches from management as well, to the point where I don't know why they don't just go rogue.

Their particular complaint is management makes them stay open late on a Thursday. But it's completely dead and there's nothing to do. So they started a bloodbowl league, maybe alternating with Spearhead, hoping to sell more kits and have something to do on time waste Thursdays. Upper management forbid it and now they're stuck staring at the wall across the street all afternoon.

Neat. I hope they sell them near me too. I'd buy one.

I'm going to be playing it soon (hopefully).

While the community is nicer than 40ks, there's a little bit of an issue right now where people are complaining. The game is super light weight but some are complaining it's too crunchy, and the increasing popularity is now starting to attract tournament fags that do what tournament fags do.

made by a furry.
Wait, what?

The starter set has an OC donut steel Space Lizardmen
Best faction in the game. Fun lore, cool models, and something GW refuses to give us.

And for those who care, the lore is the frog mages prepare the suarian army, and go to sleep ready for prevent the apocalyptic event the prophesy foretold.

Some wake early, see the shit has hit the fan and start trying to wake up the others.

And if you hate the dinosaur aesthetic, I hear they make a great proxy for Halo covenant.
