Warhammer 40k

You would be amazed (or maybe not) how many players have nearly zero lore knowledge.

Every time I see a youtuber not know even basic lore I start getting exasperated and then remember I know people that actively play Space Wolves but couldn't tell you their Primarch.
I met a dude during my crusade who played for a decade, played chaos, and didn't know any of the gods names
Yes, but the people you're talking about aren't making a parody cartoon series and being paid $15k a month or whatever it is plus merch sales to do so.

Hey where do ya'll get the best sites for 40k books?

So this faggot is surprised he's on GWs shitlist and doesn't receive free crap when they know he leaked a codex early? And then whining because he had his fans vote for him as a "hobby hero" and didn't win because GW didn't want to just give it to some youtube guy? And this eventually cost one of his friends a job and he's proud of this? What a faggot.
Meanwhile, Valrak leaks GW's shit all the time, is in the middle of making his own miniatures wargame, got blacklisted by GW, and genuinely doesn't give a shit and trucks along his merry way. He understands and accepts the tradeoff whereas it seems like Mordian Glory doesn't and is sour grapes over being blacklisted, despite prefacing his video with "I'm not mad".

For both of them being characterized as faction-dedicated 40k guys (Space Marines and Imperial Guard, both well-served by GW), it's fascinating how sharply they contrast in their general attitude, Valrak being positive/happy and Mordian Glory negative/unhappy. And it's not that I place Valrak as being a GW sycophant, either. I think he's clear about what he doesn't like or care about, but simply opts to focus on what he enjoys the most rather than harp continuously on his dislikes. I haven't seen that much of Mordian Glory, but when I do watch him, he seems to often have a bad/downer attitude that's fatiguing and doesn't incentivize me to keep up with him. Perhaps this is the difference between hobbyist and competitive YouTubers.

Well comparatively, Valrak has enough of a following and is likeable enough that so long he stays within the wargaming sphere, his channel will be relatively unaffected. Plus, you dont need to be a GW insider to shit out thousands of rumorslop videos lmfao (though he is right on a few of them).

I think this is the main crux of it. Most Warhammertubers aren't all that likable personality wise. Some try to pretend that they can be relatable or nice like Bricky or Luetin but the mask slips on them constantly and you can kind of tell that they don't care much for the hobby if they aren't making money from it.

Valrak seems like an autist that just loves wargames in general and even if he hates GW he'll still talk about new stuff coming out because he loves the setting and the game itself.

Meanwhile Mordian seems like he's a dude who used to like 40k but has started to hate it especially since he's locked himself into a faction that tends to be very hit or miss depending on aratas and editions of the game. Mordian basically black pilled himself into hating 40k and has grown a following from it and is now stuck in a never ending loop of posting about a game he used to love but now hates and or dislikes, because it's his job.

There were really cool paint schemes in the 3rd/4th edition codex that had the normal metallic and also ceramic style ones.
Link?

He has done a collab with Chapter master Valrak and Discourse Miniatures
I can't stand Discourse Minis, but his episode with Mordian was fantastic. It's like they have complementary retardation. They should do it more.

Ive tried watching some of his vids before and you can pick up his hostility and disingenuous quite quickly. Complaining slowly about whatever the topic is and you really need to shut your brain off because if you pay attention as he circles around small issues over and over you quickly pick up that the video is a waste of time.

That level of hate/grudge just isnt healthy. He is clearly in it for the youtube money at this point and is unhappy with his life. Buddy, go get a real job and get off the internet.
I don't mind Mordian because, unlike 99% of 40k YouTubers, he actually likes minis games. He's not just regurgitating wiki pages or going on about how much GW sucks. He has fallen out with GW, and for good reason, but he seems to care about Konflikt 47 to the point where he comes across as a bit of a shill.

Is Discourse Minis a troon? I know the answer should be obvious since I assume that's the person on the front of the thumbnail
Of course that's a troon. They look like a man who has applied makeup with a fucking putty knife at the best of times.

This guy practically looks like that reddit mod from LSF.

Fair, my brain was telling me it was, but part of me was second-guessing myself for whatever reason. Glad I didn't click the video.

Disgusting. I think the main reason I was unsure at all is that a lot of Troon YouTubers (and their friends) try to make them pass in thumbnails, which results in a lot of them just looking like fat nerd chicks. I caught the jawline and knew immediately that it was a man, but then started going, "Well, hold on, it could also just be a really fat chick."

Glad my first hunch was right.
