I just asked NordVPN why they want to renew my sub at "full" (hilariously inflated) price when my current sub is at a "discount". Their reply was very vague - something like "well, the lower price is supposed to encourage you to use their services". Let's take a look (all prices include VAT):
- my current sub (1 year): 12 x €5,50 = €66
- if I paid for 1 month at a time: 12 x €15 = 180
- they want to resub me for €168
This is the main reason I want to switch to Mullvad because I don't want to support companies with business practices like that. Mullvad's single price policy is as fair as it gets.
I think we're at least two or three decades past an era where we could actually SAVE money or get a good bargain on anything. Notice how all "bargains" these days are "buy $200 worth of our products to get a 5% discount on the next product costing up to $30". Get your stupid phone apps and vouchers and stick 'em where the sun don't shine. I refuse to so much as grace them with my attention.

The only reason I've come across to use anything else is if you're just using the VPN because you need to appear to be in a specific place that Mullvad doesn't have a server in.

EDIT: Mullvad has a 14 day refund policy. But the message below is a direct call to ask for a refund if you don't want to give money to Nazis.
If Mullvad refuse a refund, call your consumer protection agency. And reverse credit card charges on the basis of deceptive refund policy representations. It's not like you ever want to be a Mullvad customer again.
