There's a comment under one of his vods that I think sums it up pretty well. It went something like:

I forget what stream it was, but I recall a few years ago he poked fun at himself and the people who call him a fencesitter when it came to politics. Something like: "Muh centrist Vinny. Pick a side, bruh!"

His fanbase becoming so woke is really weird, though, but I think it's a consequence of his hands-off approach. If you look at his subreddit, he's there but only out of necessity, it seems, to read someone the riot act when they get a bit uppity.

He's probably like most normal people. Doesn't want TTD or anything, but prefers to forget they exist and not be roped into their degeneracy, silently hoping they'll fuck off with their constant attempts to insert their disgusting fetishes into everything.

Maybe it's draining him after all these years. Dude's been streaming for 15 to 20 years, I think. Knowing your paycheck relies on placating these weird fuckers must be a real drag, especially after going through the false allegation bullshit.

Yeah the hands-off approach is especially true. He used to often police chat's behavior and petty drama in the early years, but he came off like he just had absolutely 0 patience moderating retards on the internet and eventually loosened up on that. He's voiced his stance many times on how he wants the vibe of the streams to be, but a while back when I was watching the Skies of Arcadia streams he went pretty in-depth about that, saying he'd rather people police themselves, leave whatever baggage they have and just chill with the streams and that he doesn't want to censor anyone, just that he doesn't mind discussions as long as their civil and not about politics.

Really does seem to be the case that, whether left or right, most people demand to know the politics of their fave parasocial streamer / youtuber. Maybe it's because streaming is a sort of friend simulator, so that friend can't possibly have the "wrong" opinions, since, especially as a public figure, even an eceleb, if you even touch politics you're looking at death threats at best from some of the craziest fuckers in society.

Vinny's right about looking at things based on logic instead of this "my team vs your team" bullshit (yes, the red hats are fucking gay), and I'm learning that more people feel this way than I thought, and are sick of people politicizing everything, including fucking gaming streams lol.

Vinny mentions the cringiness of wearing a fucking MAGA hat, but doesn't outright talk shit about right wing views, but that makes sense since that's only a slither of the right, and you don't have to be a crazy lefty to find this cult-like worship of politicians-as-new-age-celebrities cringe as fuck. And you don't have to be fully right wing to hold a few right-wing views. People go all in on this shit, left and right, either because they lack a personality or because they crave a community.

Lotta respect for Vinny after hearing this. Sounds like he's just fucking sick of people being annoying. Given this, though, the gender / sexuality shit in his chat really must get annoying for him. They insert the gender and sexuality shit into everything and won't even acknowledge that it's a branch of leftist identity politics, putting guys like Vinny in a tough spot. I've seen his Reddit. It's a cesspit.
