Why does everyone go nuts for Final Fantasy 7 as if it is the only game in the franchise when 4,6, and 9 are better games with better characters and stories?
and 5... and x... and x-2... and 12... and every smt and persona... and...

Well the reason it's usually the first (and often only) one they played. It is a great game so it's hard to say it's "overrated" but there's better jrpgs.

Based X and X-2 enjoyer.

I have yet to play 12 but heard a lot of good things about it.

I didn't like x-2 when it first came out its budget presentation was a big letdown after x but when I replayed it years later I enjoyed it way more for its combat.

12 is weird, I will say the re-release is such a massive improvement that it really should've been released that way. Though I can say that about every atlus rpg...

X-2 was the game I was paranoid playing in case my mom happened to walk into the room because as good as the actual gameplay was good luck explaining the trappings to someone with no context.

The XII remaster was based on the FFXII International: Zodiac Job System version released in Japan that never got localized due to how late the game was released in the west, so it WAS released that way, but most of the world didn't get that one.

Every FF from VII to XII got an "International" release, and so did the first Kingdom Hearts as the Final Mix release, in Japan. They were usually released as the budget "Greatest Hits" versions and rolled in bug fixes from the US releases and quality of life adjustments, sometimes they added new content and significant rebalancing. Some of them got fan translations through the years, and most of the remasters have been based on the International versions.

Yea those are weird cause we always got like a 1.1 and then they got a 1.2 update. People complain about DLC now but back then you'd have to re-buy the whole game for these kinds of additions, like with silent hill 2, DMC3 or MGS2/3.

Someone in gen chat called me insane for saying I liked X-2 better than X but I do and I mean that sincerely. The job system is top tier fun and I need it to come back and/or be featured in more RPG's.
FFX2 is a silly fun low stakes adventure with fanservice.

Pretentious types and redditors hate it because it isn't dark and serious or a retarded commentary on some contemporary social issue.

Oh, and the Star Wars xcom clone turns out to be a chimera squad clone with a set party of characters, so that's off the list too.
I liked Chimera Squad. 🙂 Writing was utterly atrocious but for some reason I found that charming. Gameplay was buggy. I don't think I would have enjoyed it had I played xcom 2 first, however.

A friend's friend back in the day had to explain to his mom how having all 3 characters be thieves was necessary because he got a bonus from it (read: a complete lie to try to explain 3 women in bikinis.)

Actually, 2000s JRPGs were pretty good at that in general, with FFX-2 and Kingdom Hearts II being up there.

While that is hilarious and I laughed I don't remember too many super cringe moments in the KH games, maybe I'm just retarded and forgot it all.
It's mainly just Atlantica in KH2 because it's just a bunch of rhythm mini-games set to Little Mermaid songs. Though I guess you could also worry about someone walking in to you playing the Winnie the Pooh mini-games or something.
There's some funny stuff out of context general depending on how broad your definition of cringe is.

9.5.

If you mean the hammer, you can change directions by moving and holding the direction after instead of quicktapping to roll. Also the roll has iframes.
The jump? That's the roll? Lol. That actually helped.

Changing directions isn't working for me at all on the switch. The roll trinket helped quite a bit.

Most of my main gripes are solved. No idea what the game is about... But it is better now.

I looked at the complete list of revealed games during the summer showcases and we need a complete moratorium on roguelikes, deck builders, and indie games with retro pixel art for at least five years.

Mickey! It's Riku. They put bugs in him! [51Qcw2VUX4w].webm

I waited for eons for KH to drop on pc; bought all 3 games on Epic which is saying something, seeing as not having achievements on Steam is enough to make me not play a game, but now that they're on Steam I just can't bring myself to play them. I really should. I love that retarded-ass franchise.

But all things considered: The story really isn't that complex. If you focus entirely on the trilogy, the story isn't too out there, but the fact they're setting up the 4th game throughout with the app games and shit, it gets muddy. If they had just made the trilogy and put a ribbon on it before moving on, it'd be less of a mess.

My face when I reached the end of KH3 and saw all those gamertags appear and I was like, who? what?

I'm having a hell of a time finding a game to really just lose myself in and enjoy. Gaming is kind of starting to feel kinda like work getting through the backlog which blows ass. Can't tell if it's just an age thing or I'm just depressed or something. Shit sucks.
