Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

Appeals courts tend to be somewhat sane (bar a few exceptions) so if the case gets tossed there we'll hear legitimate reasons rather than "I'm too fucking lazy to do my job, fuck you for taking me from the country club, now either smell my farts and say they smell nice or get the fuck out".

That said, I admit its optimistic they'll come down hard at all. It's more likely they'll tell him to hear it neutrally and fairly and that's it.... at which point Chupp will do just that and anything he can weasel out of the case he will.

So yeah... likely another ten years. Granted this is if Chupp is the lolcow I think he is, which I could be wrong on. He could just be an idiot (God knows plenty of those exist) in which case he'll just hear the case.... which means god knows how long it'll take.

In some summary article from google, I read that judges in the course of an election campaign can accept a donation even from the parties in a case that they are currently considering. And they should not even withdraw. I do not know whether it is true or not. But if there are very flexible rules, I wonder if it is possible to organize a GFM campaign in support of Judge Chupp's opponent in the next election.
Because if so, and if someone does, I will definitely throw in a few dollars. To properly troll him.

Late and gayer than Elton John, @AnOminous found stuff a bit more credible than that.

I get that some of you are dying to turn the whole weeb wars section into some homegrown lolcow community to laugh at, but at least try to keep up.

Exactly, the original finding of the 3 disgruntled complaints was a sniff of the smoke. It wasn't an "OMG THIS PROVES EVERYTHING LOLZ". And as it turned out upon further digging, there's merit to some of the complaints.

Not all of us are as emotional as some make everyone out to be

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the only truly ironclad rule in our justice system is "Get these lolcows out of my court".
If Ty manages to get even one charge past the Great Wall Of Autism, he's a success in my book.

I would imagine the only lawyer that was happy after yesterday's hearing was Sam. I'd be pissed if I was Volney and saw Marchi walk due to lack of volume of her tweets, when Funimation literally only had 1 (2 with implied relation to Vic) tweet including Vic's name.

I'd be even more upset if I was Lemoine (aside from just the fact that I was Lemoine), the fact that he essentially got neutered in front of a live studio audience, and none of what he said seemed to sync with the Judge. All of what got dismissed on his clients was on the Judge's whim.

All parties remaining are likely fuming right now, and need to adjust

10 years?

Chupp is a Lolcow?

What is any of this based on?
You mean beyond the fact that irrefutable evidence that ron did commit TI that isn't protected by free speech somehow has no merit in the judge's eye? The fact that the hearing was for TCPA and not an evidence hearing? do I need to go on?

Like I said though, I could be wrong. He could take whatever appeals gives him and roll with it, and not chimp out.

Though I do find it curious some elements of weeb wars seem zealously, almost religiously against the notion of Chupp being wrong, dumb, a lolcow, or any combination therein. Aren't we just supposed to laugh at cows?

I would too. Though thats it... like they say, no gay ops and no interacting with cows.

That said if I did turn out to be wrong and chupp is some secret 4d chess master then fine, I can take an L and say I read him wrong.

At this point I'm less baffled by him and more his fanboys. He's got some real fans here that get pissed if you dare call him a lolcow.... which is why I will continue to.

so here is a hot take, Judge Chupp has made some stupid decisions in the past that led to him having those decisions reversed in appeals, this may be a reoccuring theme with this judge

this thread is for discussions of the legal issues at hand, if you're going to argue that chupp is unfit put some fucking evidence in your post. as has been stated multiple times, anonymous reviews from people on the losing side of a judge's decision are as reliable as shane's twitter account. don't speculate with bullshit just because you don't like what chupp ruled. transcripts from the hearing will be out after a brief wait and then we will have some verifiable shit to review.

I mean, I was in the room with him, and you haven’t actually listed anything he’s done consistent with being a lolcow.

Something tells me you don’t actually understand what, or why, judge Chupp ruled the way he did yesterday.

I don’t care when people disagree, but to act as if Chupp is just some idiot when you don’t even grasp what he did at a fundamental level is pretty exceptional.

"Anyone who does something I don't like is a lolcow"

I think you're the stupidest person thats posted so far.

Dumber than shane? because I think Chupp is a lolcow?

and you wonder why I called you a fanboy. Guess I can ignore you from now on since its clear you have nothing to say... unlike Damian who actually responded with something insightful. have a nice day.

Some guys misunderstand the logic behind all this.

Previously, someone wrote that if defendants denied certain judge's decisions, claiming the judge was biased, they would look ridiculous. Now many people think that in this particular case it is ridiculous for the plaintiff and ISWV to disagree with the judge's decisions.

But that's not how it works. If the judge said 2*2=4 and the defendants say he is biased, they are lolcow.
If the judge said that 2*2=5 he is lolcow himself.

What Ron wrote to Slatosh is not university algebra or quantum physics.

Edit:
He cannot dismiss the case at this stage of the proceedings simply because the lawyer, based on his understanding of TCPA, did not gave him the exact figure in dollars of the damage caused, but the plaintiff and the witness claim that the damage exists.

My point exactly.

That said, if Chupp had given ISWV a full victory..... I wouldn't think ron and co. are lolcows just because they chimp out about the decision/disagree. I mean its reasonable to not like it when your told your shit stinks. What, to me, one aspect of a lolcow is the events following where they descend into madness trying to explain why their shit doesn't stink instead of just coming to terms with the hard truth.

looking at some of his court precedings in the past he been appealed several times, im not saying he is an idiot, i am saying he may need to learn more about properly putting the law into practice

Seeing all this salt about Chupp is great. He's become my favorite actor in this so far, and the fact that his word is law and can't really be argued right now is funny.

Vic can still show how bad he got fucked by proving defamation and although TI is out cons are going to be a lot more cautious about pulling stunts like this. It's not a flawless victory but it's still a win as long as the defamation isn't tossed(it will be though).

Chupp is right on TI, seethe harder Tyfags.
