The most expensive lawyer by far in this was Lemonlungs and his firm who piled mound after mound of garbage on the court, forced his clients to conduct expensive depositions, and listed in his expenses shit like watching Nick Rekieta's show when in reality his job was simply pointing out how his clients had the free speech to say what they said. I think this was Ron's strategy to keep defaming Vic using the legal system after the first lawyer they hired didn't take that approach, since any sane client would have told their lawyer to shut the fuck up and focus on the case.

There is some chance that Ty game him some sort of oddball contingency deal where he pockets the GFM money (or uses it for "expenses") and 30-50% of the proceeds of the lawsuit, which would explain why Vic would hire him over someone more competent.

He would still be out of pocket the opposing legal fees if they win.

I thought the GoFundMe was contractually obligated to be paid into an escrow account at Ty Beard's practice for payment of Vic's litigation expenses and, once litigation was finished, any remaining amount was to be paid to a yet to be named non-profit for battered women. That was part of the selling points in seeking donations (that none of Vic, Nick, or Ty were personally benefiting from the GoFundMe).

If the above is the case, then the GoFundMe cannot pay off any of the bills assessed to Vic because those are his personal debt (not a part of his litigation expenses). So, short of either Nick or Ty handing him the funds to cover his bills, those bills will fall on Vic alone.

I love how both Nick and Ty made out like bandits in this scenario and Vic is going to end up holding the bag for them.

At least we're getting close to the time where we can finally pick a non-profit for those remaining GoFundMe funds. Perhaps there's one out there for battered spouses who have been afflicted by West Nile virus.

The money is Vic's, he gets anythign left over after the IOLTA closes. That is why he can promise the extra to charity.

There’s this new-ish AI called Whisper, which has been merged with Moviepy to create an extremely easy to use method that automatic translates a video’s audio and encodes it with English subtitles in the correct position. The translations aren’t perfect, but neither are fansubs and in about a year you likely won’t be able to tell them apart.
At that point, 100% of subbing can be done by anyone who gets access to the video files. I know this because I got bored and tried it with a rip of a Japanese tv show last night.
