There's nothing suggesting his jurisprudence has anything to do with his personal resentment of how he's been treated, and it is consistent with his judicial philosophy overall. There is no reason to accuse him of corruption.

That was speculation from Nick, and I can see it happening. He theorized that Vic can sue Ty for malpractice (without necessary malice on Vic's part), and Ty uses his malpractice insurance to pay Vic. Vic can then use that money for paying off the TCPA judgment. Vic doesn't get his reputation back, but at least he's not half a million in debt to the defendants' lawyers.

Dunno. Fraud would imply that Ty fucked up deliberately in order to collect the money. While he undoubtedly fucked up, I don't think his end goal was to ruin Vic's lawsuit just to get money from his insurance.

A hypothetical malpractice lawsuit would be legitimate, it just wouldn't mean Vic hates Ty afterwards, though he's perfectly in the right to.

TCPA was already reformed within a year of Vic's filing I think. My memory is hazy but I think one of Beard's former partners (who was a state senator at the time) co-led the reform on it. Some commentary on the reform:

Ironically it might have helped Vic's case out to file under the reformed TCPA (if it was within the deadline), but that boat sailed. I think that's another reason why TXSC might not give a shit, it's old law.
