Reminds me of some kind of zoom interview I came across during my AtT (Ally to terf) transition: A random detransitioner was informing the host that, paraphrased, "What I want other dysphoric girls to understand is that, yeah you wish you were a boy but what you have to consider is that ... trans boys become trans MEN."
And I recall reacting to that with a completely bewildered, "NO FUCKING SHIT, ISN'T THAT THE POINT?"
I don’t think that’s entirely off-base, though.
When young pooners decide to transition, the way they imagine themselves is often shaped around their
ideal men, the ones that they’re attracted to as a young heterosexual woman: The classmates they have a crush on, their favorite celebrities and fictional characters, etc. They almost never imagine themselves as a thoroughly average-looking middle-aged guy with thinning hair and a dad bod, even though that’s logically what they will someday be. (And who does, really?)
That outcome sounds obvious to us as adults, but pooners often start as teens or college age, and there’s such a huge emphasis on forming a whole new identity within trans circles that transitioning is treated more like permanent cosplay. I think a lot of them
are genuinely shocked when they start looking less like their imagined self and more like Carl Brutananadilewski.
It’s funny how you can tell that Vicky clearly did think she was hot shit there for a few years. There are
so many selfies in that 2017/2018 dump and more than one request on Reddit for someone to draw her. Meanwhile, I think there's been more credible photos of Bigfoot over the last five years than of Vicky.
