I recently got my buddy's old N64 with a bunch of games. To my dismay the OoT cartridge didn't work, until I tried the old "blow on the pins" trick, after which it switched on as if nothing were wrong.
I have plenty of memories of the trick working with NES and SNES cartridges, but I can't remember it ever applying to the N64.
That was my October surprise, I guess.

Seriously? I thought every just assumed the same thing across all. It's the same type of cartridge, why wouldn't it work from NES-N64?
I'm willing to bet even Sega Genesis people used that trick

The Irish are as bad as Canadians when it comes to opinions about US politics. I had some Irish friends who threw a fit when I said I was voting for Trump and block me on all social media when Trump won. These were men behaving like college freshman girls.

I told you it's been drummed into them from a young age my both the Media and Academia.
What broke the conditioning for me was 2008 when Obama won I was hopeful that the US was done being the world police and would finally get out of Iraq and Afghanistan but instead they stayed and doubled down then Libya and Syria happened. Seeing the US democrats for the war hawks they really were and seeing that Cunt Hilary celebrate the murder of Gaddafi made me hate them with every fibre of my being.
So seeing Hilary and the US Democrats get humiliated in 2016 was one of the greatest moments of my life and I had a permanent shit eating grin for a week after the election.

There's a difference between criticism or voicing disagreements versus antagonism and being a dick. As I said, I don't agree with his opinion on this or on lots of other things.

If we weren't on his site? Fair game, absolutely. This site certainly doesn't have the most civil tone towards a lot of people, nor does Null in general. However, considering we are on his site and he's giving us a platform? It calls for a little bit more decorum and gratitude than namecalling and condescension when he's expressing a sincerely-held opinion that he's clearly put a lot of thought into.

To begin with, he is a lot more tolerant than maybe any other forum administrator I've seen in terms of people disagreeing with him or insulting him. His dedication to freedom of expression is nothing short of remarkable. Sperging out at him or being a dick isn't going to change anything, certainly not his mind. But he's made it very clear that the A&H posters who don't engage on other areas of the site, are political extremists, and don't fit in are his least favorite. Continuing to antagonize him is downright foolish and unproductive.

Though I get you argument. My issue with this logic is if they lie about who voted for what. What's stopping them from lying about the participation rate? As far as I'm aware, the goverment knows, but that's not public information and hence can also be fucked with. I do guess that in your close community you could smell the bullshit, but have no way of confirming if other towns are legitimate or not.

Basically, if I were at that point, I'd be considering more... "alternative approaches" instead of hoping that desingaging with the system will make it suddenly reevaluate itself or just ignore politics outright and accept my serdom. At the end it's all about a monopoly on violence and abstaining won't change who controls it. Though to be fair, voting probably doesn't either, but it at least has black swan events here and there.

I'm a firm believer that Trump in 2016 was very much not on the cards and the whole reaction to him is all the proof I need of that. I'm also convinced it was stolen in 2020 and that Trump in 2024 is something very much not wanted by our betters, they tried to kill him after all.

We do not live in a democratic country. Even if the system worked and votes counted, the system has no safeguards and one party is literally importing foreigners with the intention of naturalizing them because 90% of them vote for that party. Demos means 'people of the land', but the electorate of the United States is not people of the fucking land, so we do not live in a fucking democracy.
