I just think having a superpower status plus a 4 year election is a deadly combo for everyone. Maybe not so much in the past when everyone voting was educated, but now....

It's unfortunately not really a system ideal for world power to some extent. Allies or enemies alike are potentially subject to inconsistent foreign policy stances so it can be hard to plan things out in the long-term unless there is some kind of bipartisan agreement on something.

It's meaningless here as we'll certainly go red but it makes me wonder, is turnout depressed overall? Did all these people already vote by mail this time? Is it just the time of day? I dont know but its mildly concerning.

I experienced the same thing. Yet have been seeing more energy around than the 2020 election. Midterms had about the same amount of voters as I saw today, though I voted at an early time today than then. A lot of republicans I knew who voted same day in 2020, they instead voted early this time around.

I’ve never seen lines at my polling location. It’s big and very well run so usually you’re right in and out. Even in the last 2 presidential races.

The entire day the line has been insane. It is moving well so the poll workers are doing a good job. I was just very surprised because I’ve managed to avoid almost all political media or conversation and didn’t expect this election to be much different from the previous two.

Probably a combination of early voting and time of day. Most future voters are at school or work.
