If Trump wins and takes the Senate and keeps the House, national voter reform has a good chance of happening. If he loses the House, or he doesn't take Senate, it isn't happening.
What about an SC ruling? There has to be a few legal teams ready to go that actually knows what they are doing this time around to carry it to the SC.
I ask since it feels like quite a few people have very different ideas on how to go about it. And of course there's the little issue of the federal government eroding the states' right to regulate their own elections...
States exploiting their own election loopholes to cheat or using non-citizens to inflate their population for the sake of more federal representation in the form of more house seats is already infringing on other state's rights. We have problems that really need feds to sort out.

What would you hope for in a reform? Mandatory voter ID? Standardising the voting process?

Mandatory voter ID and national mail in deadlines to start with. I'd prefer to do away with mail in entirely, but that's a pipe dream.

Ideally:
-Voter ID at absolutely zero cost to citizens
-Paper ballots only
-No more VBM in the continental US; military/citizens working abroad the only exceptions
-Results must be tallied by no later than 6 AM the following morning; no more of this week(s) long counting bullshit that started in 2020
-Mandatory federal prison time for people caught attempting/committing fraud

1 and 2 are absolutely vital to keeping actually fair and secure elections, 3 is probably a pipedream, 4 used to be the norm for 2 centuries until muh deadly coof upended all that, and 5 is probably already on the books but it needs actual enforcing after all the shit that's occurred in the last 4 years.

Also repeal the 19th Amendment, but sadly that's asking for the moon and the rest of the solar system.

As a dirty Europoor I find it unfathomable why this isn't the norm in the USA.

Isn't it strange this wasn't a thing before Trump? They magically lost their ability to count the votes in time, since he was elected in 2016. This alone is proof that they are cheating.

Even this shithole I live in requires IDs and a full-on biometric registry in order to be eligible to vote. Why cant you niggas do the same over there?
In my shithole it's personal ID plus an address card are the requirements to vote, both cross referenced with the voter database on the spot. So you have to be a citizen with a valid address to get a ballot.

YouGov is a "British" company created by 2 Conservative politicians. German-born Stephan Shakespeare, who took his wife's last name as his last name was Kukowski, and Iraqi-born (possibly muslim) Nadhim Zawahi who, among other things, was COVID-19 Vaccines Minister and also Chairman of the Conservative Party until last year.

How widespread is voter ID in Europe? I'm sure I can google it, just wanted to get a local viewpoint.
Pretty much every single country has Voter ID, and have banned Mail Ins for fraud.

If the US goes for ID now, they might go with a similar system that the rest of the world uses for electronic ID, which ends up making your ID a security token that lets you digitally sign documents.

In which case, you can make the absentee ballots digitally signed (chip + pin), if the ballot is output as a Pdf, and needs to be signed locally, you can even review the ballots for tampering before you sign them.

You'd need to break into the certificate infrastructure if you wanted to fake-sign ballots, and do so unnoticed, which, if it's built intelligently, which it obviously won't be, would let people sound the alarm way before fraud can happen.

AFAIK ID verification is needed to vote in pretty much every European country with the exception of Britain and Denmark.

Edit: Apparently, I was mistaken and the UK has this requirement as well.

I'm pretty sure everywhere has it. Here in the UK we not only require ID to vote but it has to be a photo ID after the law was changed a few years ago.

Excerpt:

What is voter identification and what will voters need to know?

Voter identification will require voters to prove their identity by showing a form of photographic identification, before being given their ballot paper in a polling station across Great Britain at national UK-wide elections, and at local elections in England.
A broad range of documents, both in date and expired, will be accepted in order to prove your identity to vote.

*wakes up to see thread digressed into abortion talk*
I can't wait for this election to end (and hopefully we'll get another four years of salt mining).

and yet mofos in this thread are still pretending they can't possibly steal this election and Trump will win by a gorillion votes.
Yes we are all just hallucinating the active and effective lawfare trump and the rnc are doing against fraud that we lamented the lack of last time. You are very smart and have it all figured out.

When I was in Iraq during the occupation, the elections we set up required ID to vote. Funny how that's a rule when we invade sovereign countries but too much to ask here bc muh niggers.
