They also fail to ask the question of why he would lead a party when the majority openly say they undermine him. Nor do they ask what if he is leading? Trump put foward listen and do what voters want as a platform and got people elected on that. Those people are now doing exactly that.

This is the thing party people. We like to joke about the Uniparty representing the interests of the institutional state, which are the unelected functionaries, lobbyists, corporate donors and wat not. And to a large extent this is true.

The issue ALL these people have though is they are parasites. Parasites on an existing host known as the US Federal Government. While they care not one bit for the health of the Government, the still need that government to meet the minimum necessary levels of function in order for the nutrients to be ingested, the blood to flow so those nutrients reach them, and for the immune system to not attack them too hard so they can survive in their parasitic state and harvest all that they need to thrive and reproduce.

To that end, they have moderate psychological control over the host. They can make it more hungry, thus forcing it to eat more. Even better they can dull its senses, maybe make it less concerned about just WHY it seems to be engaging in self destructive tendencies. But the entire "system" of a parasite/host relationship still needs the higher order functions to work. If they STOP working, the host dies, and so does the parasite.

What we are seeing here now is the actual controlling mechanisms come to the fore and they try and get things going again. They need congress to pass those bills. Keep approving more money. Keep feeding the beast. If Congress doesn't do that, they are fucked.

I listened to the debate/vote while it was happening and I noticed that Cori Bush and Nancy Pelosi were no-shows for the vote, hence why it ended at 216-210 instead of 218-210. That struck me as odd considering both of them are enormous attention whores that would never pass up an opportunity to participate and gloat over a republican getting historically bodied...

No... I think something else was going on.

The guy commentating over the stream I was listening to kept repeating during the vote that republicans could only afford to lose 5 votes, because Jeffries said this morning that democrats were totally unified in voting yes. The expectation was that if Gaetz succeeded in ousting McCarthy, he would do so by getting 6 republicans to defect. Again, he could afford to lose 5, but 6 would out him.

8 republicans voted yes. All the experts said no more than 6, but in the end, it was 8.

I'd almost bet my life that Bush and Pelosi had cut an agreement to save McCarthy. If you aren't present for the initial vote, they come back to you at the end. Bush and Pelosi had the chance to see what was going to happen before coming in and voting Nay. Had things gone the way they were supposed to, they would only need 1 of them, but just in case, they sat out 2 democrats to cover their ass. It wasn't enough.

Bush and Pelosi were supposed to save him, but too many republicans turned lol. I think we just watched a backroom deal collapse. That old bitch must be seething.

Edit- it would have been 9 but Boebert cucked. When called to vote, she said, "No, this time."

Makes you wonder. This outcome doesn't help the Democratic side of the Uniparty either. The Democrats have their own issues with rank and file who question just why so much money goes to Pfizer and Lockheed Martin instead of saving the whales and starving trans women of color. So they need a plausible reason to explain to those idiots why NOT to join with Gaetz in order to fuck over the evil Nazi Republicans.

Exactly. McCarthy being ousted is bad for the deep state. Yesterday, McCarthy was steering the ship and agreeing to limitless debt ceilings and guaranteed payments to Ukraine. Now, NOTHING is going through the house. Not a fucking penny of new spending until Gaetz and the freedom caucus are on board.

Gaetz is doing exactly what AOC and the squad promised to do, but where they immediately cucked to Pelosi, Gaetz is sticking to his guns. Corporate pundits are fucking shocked right now because things like this were always meant to be for show and never actually carried out.
