Let us be real here: Obama is president. If Kamala wins Obama stays president.
That is one conspiracy theory that I actually buy into. Even if it is not him directly it is appointees and employees Trump failed to purge. I think it is one of the reasons they have been so loud about Trump purging this time which he will do.
If they have their little faggots entrenched another four years of Trump is only damage. If they are driven out of government it is catastrophic.

The story is Ann Selzer's final Iowa poll is supposed to be released tonight, and if she's honest it will be Trump 10+, which means the other rust belt states are ripples in support by comparison. But Selzer has become such a hack there is talk she will gimp the poll for copium for democrats, like she did earlier this year (and in 2020 for the democrats in the primary).
We're going to see if Selzer is willing to destroy her name for liberal cummies, and then just retire, or maintain integrity when it's make or break time.

Mark Mitchell, from Rasmussen Reports, talks about it. He doesn't think so. The number of likely early voters is up but the number of ED voters are also higher for Trump.
"If the Democrats go into election day down (lower number of ED likely voters) at all, they're not gonna be able to dig themselves out of that hole, unless they magically find more mail-in ballots."

IMO it's more coercion than influence in her case. She broke under the pressure in 2020 and hasn't been the same since which is a real disappointment given how significant a barometer her organization has been for Iowa as a whole.
Becoming quite ironic that Baris of all people is arguably the most objective these days because he's fully willing to show the raw numbers and their sampling methodology and (barring his personal biases) make no excuses for any of it.

Trump humself was a bit meh when it came to things like 2A (I remember the bumpstock ban), but his judges have put in work, SCOTUS, circuit, or district.
Of course part of it was RBG's hubris. We would hav never gotten Coney Island Barrett if she had stepped down during Obama.

Sort of. Clarence Thomas is the tip of the spear for recent 2A wins. If Trump gets a 2nd term, Thomas is most likely going to retire. If Trump doesn't replace him with an extremely pro-gun judge, the 2a victories will start to fade. Most of the republicans on the court are Fudds that aren't strict textualists. They will never touch the NFA, 80's machine gun bans, or import restrictions regardless of how blatantly unconstitutional they are. Who Trump picks to replace Thomas will dictate gun legislation probably for the rest of my lifetime.
