Had to share this. Protestants lose to none at the same rate as Catholics but they get plenty of Catholic converts, whereas Catholics just... Lose. Jews are less likely to leave religion than protestants and Catholics. Idk what other is.

“Protestant” is seven major branches and like 50k smaller ones. It’s not a fair comparison to act like it’s one thing to compare against Catholicism

Degrading forestry management, combined with the fact that there's way more forest than I think the average american realizes. It very quickly degrades into genuine wilds here as you travel past a hundred miles or so north of the border. Even at 'reasonable' burn rates for natural forest lifecycles, a fuckton is gonna burn regularly. This is normal, natural, and regularly suppressed because it kinda shits on a big anchor of a lotta climate narratives when you have a single part of a single continent left to 'nature' outputting country-sized emissions.

To add to this is the sheer scale of these forests and how many of the fires are removed from remotely inhabited land. A lot of those fires in northern Ontario and Quebec are literally in the middle of nowhere; there's no infrastructure/readily available water to support major firefighting efforts, and often another fire pops up nearer to a community which pushes that one to the top of the triage list.

Perez is said to be in settlement talks with regulators. Kalshi says it flagged the trades and referred them to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
