So they can learn English retard. China never had a very good English program to begin with, but now the CCP is removing mandatory English from the curriculum. Wealthy Chinese have been trying to anchor in America so they can get their kids fluent in English.
Chinese kids would learn better English if they were dumped on the streets and left to fend for themselves than if they were enrolled in a US university. English majors can't read English so the idea the same colleges would be able to teach Ching Chong Ding Dong is retarded. If wealthy Chinese are trying to anchor their kids it's because they want to escape the CCP. Some are plants, but the majority are self-interested, same as most immigrants that want to to come to the US. Asians (at least Japanese, Chinese, and South Korean) are better immigrants than almost anywhere on the planet. Even if they're spies, they're polite enough not to shit up the neighborhood like most immigrants do.
The only concerning issue with Chinese attending US universities is that they're displacing Americans from STEM positions. Beyond that, China needs to do something with all of the dollars that we spend on the cheap shit they crank out. If they're not wasting it on overpriced college degrees, they're going to spend it on something else and that something else may have more grievous consequences.

Trump has been trying to kick the legs under China by (trying) to hit them with steep tariffs, supporting Taiwan, and attacking important oil trade partners like Venezuela, Iran, and Russia. Trump and Xi are not friends but Trump is savvy enough to know how the face game works which is why he never insults Xi directly because any diplomacy would be DoA like with Biden. He has leverage over China and this was a big trip, but the outcome seems kinda meh. Trump backed off support for Taiwan publicly and agreed to more Chinese students/amateur spies with China stating that Iran having nukes is bad. I'm not quite sure what the plan here is or what other agreements were made...

Retard they are not going to college to become English majors. They are going to college to learn science, engineering, and medicine from professors and TAs who barely speak English themselves. They are in America precisely because their peers speak English fluently. If they want to escape the CCP, they will just go to Thailand or some other country that's easy to get to, not America. Most Chinese (on the Mainland) are ambivalent to the CCP, neither opposed nor fearful of it.
