I don't hate Robert Moses because he hated niggers. Honestly? Based. I fucking hate Robert Moses precisely because he's responsible for the accursed state of parkways across New York State. Even within the realm of geographical Long Island (incl. Brooklyn/Queens), the parkway system is a colossal clusterfuck. You ever tried commuting on the Northern or Southern State for work? Maybe taking the Sagtikos to visit some friends? Bethpage State Parkway to go to that awesome scenic spot one of your buddies took photos in? Tough fucking tits because the
entire parkway system is fucking awful.
The Southern State specifically has so many meandering curves and terrible visibility until you get past the Wantagh to the point where you
have to drive at like 40-50mph. The retards (re: niggers, spics, and white trash) who speed on the Southern State (especially Westbound toward the Belt) would actually be tolerable if Nassau County PD, Suffolk County PD, hell, even the State Troopers had actual shoulders to pull niggas over on. Nope. If you see some asshole with a Hellcat Hemi in his SRT trim Challenger doing 100mph, you're gonna end up on the other side of a big ass traffic jam because the trooper
has to pull niggas over.
See, the Northern State is lucky because its westbound terminus
is the Grand Central Parkway. There ain't much in the way of shoulders, but there's still plenty of open stretches of grass and dirt where you can pull your shit over if, God forbid, you have a fender bender, you rear end someone, or what have you. If you're a working man who elects to drive on the Belt? God fucking help you because every goddamn morning, there's an assload of traffic
right at that terminus where the Cross Island empties into either the Belt or the Southern State.
I wouldn't piss on Robert Moses's grave if he actually had the hindsight to say "redlining niggers? Kosher. Not having shoulders to pull over on? Not kosher. Let's fix that." Alack, that's not the case. You think my whinging about the sordid state of NYS parkways in geographical Long Island is bad? Bruh, try having relatives who live upstate or like in CT or NJ and then deal with the assloads of traffic that get piled up because some douchebag rear-ended someone, and they
have to pull over on the fast lane. You don't know true pain until you've been stuck on that stretch of the Palisades Parkway right before the drawbridge for 45 minutes, you inch past, and it's some bullshit like that.
The Palisades Parkway is objectively worse than the fucking Wantagh or the Northern State after Exit 33 specifically because of that drawbridge.
You expect me to praise Robert Moses for giving us
that nightmare? Uh... no. I'll be damned if I let an ex-New Yorker praise Robert Moses and get away with it.
