take these claims with a grain of salt
it is practically impossible to find a schizophrenic today who hasn't been on antipsychotic meds for most of his life, and those meds themselves also cause brain damage and shrinkage over time (can be demonstrated reliably in animal testing)
now pharma shills say "no our drugs don't shrink the brain, it's the underlying disease that causes it!" and it's basically impossible to disprove because medical ethics won't let you run a study where you dose healthy people with antipsychotics to see if you can give them brain damage this way. but it works exactly this way in chimps so it seems very plausible imo.

I -think-it’s like, for water to hold radiation, it has to have something dissolved into it that holds radiation.

Like distilled water has nothing, so the water ionizes and deionizes. Saltwater has salt, and that salt can become fallout, which implies it stays ionized longer

The isotopes that hydrogen and oxygen can be converted to by radiation are stable or very short lived and decay into harmless other elements.

The threat is dissolved radioactive particles mixed into the water.

She started treatment in the 1980’s and what they had back then was -bad-, but still, I feel like people really oversell the quality of modern antipsychotics. My sisters would have more informed opinions on specifics, but I have a lot of resentment from the messaging these days being “no biggie, the meds are so great these days, you’ll hardly notice being schizophrenic”

Maybe they keep the psychotic episodes at bay more effectively, with less side effects, but as long as the world has schizos in it, schizos will decide to “forget” to take their meds

I don’t disagree, but at least there’s treatment that at least helps manage it meanwhile for other psychological conditions the treatment is either putting them on SSRIs until they calm down or whatever they do to troons these days.

The water itself? no. But radioactive particles can still get mixed up in it. Also, the Simpsons have done a terrible job at making people think spent nuclear material is stored in oil barrels and glows green. This is what nuclear waste ACTUALLY looks like.



The water actually DOES block most nuclear radiation, to include Alpha, Beta and Neutron. It can also attenuate Gamma and X-Ray Radiation. But spent fuel rods don't really put out much of those provided they are kept cool. Which incidentally water is also very good at doing. Eventually the spent fuel completes its half life cycles and stops putting out hard gamma's and won't melt into slag if exposed to air. Its still dangerous, but at this point its sealed into a lead and concrete sarcophagus that looks like this.




The plan at this point is to then bury these sarcophagi under a mountain in Nevada, but Harry Reid killed that idea. But only after taking all the money to build the facility. Cock sucker.

With respect to jumping into a retaining pool with spent fuel rods in it...you...can. But its not recommended. Not because the water itself is radioactive, but because you could accidentally breath in some particles suspended in it that broke off from the fuel rods. And that is...not a good thing.

It can carry irradiated elements and molecules but the water itself is still just water.
Alpha and beta particles have very little penetration. Still, you don't wanna drink water with those dissolved in it. The whole plutonium poisoning that russia used ( what was the spy name, i think luchenko?) was alpha emitters in tea, which get absorbed into the body. Those have extreme energy that can't penetrate, so wherever the plutonium ends up get absolutely blasted -> cancer or bone marrow death etc.

Water can contain fallout which contains radioactive particles/isotopes, but it helps to hamper radiation from static sources.
