If I had a daughter or a wife, I would genuinely risk the relationship itself to do whatever it takes to keep them off public transit unescorted (ideally by me, or at a minimum a white person I trust). It's no longer an acceptable risk allowing a female loved one to be anywhere near mid- or high-crime rate places, facilities or services. I would rather lose a relationship and keep her safe than "relent" and then lose a loved one for failing to protect her.
