Amid all the retarded doomposting, I politely observe and approve of the Trump administration continuing to fucking kill these drug smugglers without mercy while politely smiling and ignoring the endless teeth-gnashing about their supposed "rights."
That is exactly the right way to handle this (and a good number of other problems). Politely nod and continue anyway.

The Handmaid's Tale was supposed to be "What if the 1979 Iranian Revolution occurred here in the US and we became a hardcore theocracy overnight?"
The biggest laugh I get from that whole mess (this first gained "mainstream" attention when Kavanaugh was the SCOTUS nom and being accused of rape by some squeaky-voiced liar (who vanished instantly after he was confirmed, you'll notice)) was how much of an own-goal that whole story was to begin with.
It was obviously written as a feminist's fantasy on two levels -- the obvious one being "see, stupid women, this is what you get when you trust
men instead of us" and the other slightly more subtle one being "oh god yes please men subjugate us again we get off on the abuse" (which is what feminists never want to admit, despite gobbling up that
50 Shades of Gray shit ravenously like the whores they know they are).
But it fails on both levels. One of the biggest "oooooh" themes in the story is watching the conservative woman agitate for the "female subjugation" shtick with her husband only for it to backfire (as expected) when she herself is put in those same shackles and to her utter astonishment (and no one else's) she doesn't like it. The reader is supposed to enjoy the smug satisfaction of a misguided woman getting her just deserts, but the
real lesson if you have half a brain is "women are generally so god damned short-sighted, stupid and impulsive that they cannot -- individually or collectively -- foresee even obvious dangers of any of the dumb shit they constantly strive for."
And of course the undercurrent of "women secretly need to be dominated and subjugated" may well be true, but the story fails because it doesn't address the elephant in the room: that domination and subjugation is for
man's benefit, not theirs. Women in the story enjoy protection, safety and (relative) comfort under the new regime, but that's all it extends them. There's nothing in the fine print about men giving good oral. No fucking shit the sex isn't going to be satisfying for women anymore if men no longer have to earn it and if it's all geared towards men's satisfaction. Kinda goes back to the first lesson again. Dumb broads.
Not that I necessarily agree with all that shit, but it's obviously what's being conveyed, and the story still fucks it up. You just have to have a modicum of experience witnessing woman IRL making absurdly stupid decisions a few times to realize yeah, without
some kind of guidance they're doomed to destroy themselves. But the story acts like it's some grand revelation.
Naturally the dullards who swooned over the story and decided to use it as a comparison to the Kavanaugh situation
completely missed the point. It goes a long way in illustrating how useless the story really was that nobody even bothered trolling the dumb ugly whores in those costumes -- anybody who'd read the story would have known they could just ask them "why are you out here without your husbands, you screeching harpies?" and it would have triggered such a delightful meltdown. But alas, nobody cared, Kavanaugh was confirmed, and the cheap costumes vanished again until recently.
